The Lovers Stone is best used on the Aetherial Crown because removing it allows you to obtain a sleeping bonus.
The Steed Stone or Lords Stone combined with the Lovers Stone on the Aetherial Crown is also a great combo.
I primarily use the Lords Stone with the Steed Stone. Whenever I plan to level smithing I switch to the Warrior Stone with the Lovers Stone on the Aetherial Crown, or Mages Stone + Lovers Stone for leveling Enchanting.
You can also use an exploit that allows you to obtain three standing stones, but you can only do it with the guardian stones as far as I know because of their close proximity to each other.
Store the standing stone you wish to store on the Aetherial Crown on your person, then go to the guardian stones and save your game. Make sure the Aetherial Crown is in your favorites so you can unequip it quickly.
Touch one of the guardian stones of your choice and the previous power is transferred to the aetherial crown, quickly unequip the aetherial crown and touch a second guardian stone.
If you do it right you will have two guardian stones on your person and the third is stored on the Aetherial Crown. If it doesn't work reload your save and do everything faster.
Then if you want to use the Steed Stone or Lords Stone unequip the aetherial crown and when you touch one of them and it will replace one of the guardian stones. It is random, but the warriors stone is often dominant. It depends on the standing stone you use to replace one of the guardian stones.
The disadvantage to using that exploit is that one of the powers on your person can only be removed with console.
unless you want to lean skills quicker I agree with Front Mission V. You can craft some regenerate magicka gear to offset the slower regen of the Atronach stone. or just use 1 of the 1000 regen potions you will find everywhere.
