Exactly how is Oblivion more immersive? How are you defining "immersive"?

Skyrim: Cooking, smithing, contextual NPC conversations, no fast travel to cities you've never been to, bandits don't wear daedric armor, etc. Oblivion does have repair, but that balances with Skryrim's tempering. I'm just not seeing how Oblivion is more immersive.
