Levelling is too fast, Bug or Intentional?
I uninstalled Level Uncapper So I could be less overpowered in game, because It was sucking all the fun out of the game

But it seems every two or 3 mid-tier skill i level up gives me another level, is this some sort of left over bug from the level Uncapper or is it just how the game was made? because I am like level 34 now and I have only become the Thane Of Solitude, The starting Dawnguard quests and haven't even been to Bleak Falls Barrow, I suppose it might be because a lot of the side-quests have higher level enemy spawns which take a lot more hits than the enemies the game would assume I'd face, but it still seems somewhat odd to have Nordic Carved Plate appearing on Bosses when I haven't even slain a single dragon yet.

Add these two mods from the Nexus: Duel - Realistic Combat and Combat Evolved. these two mods will slow you down by making the enemies alot smarter, they'll hide behind trees and rocks etc.

thanks, I will check those out.... all though I never minded the enemy AI of those in Skyrim, but that might be because I compare it to the FNV AI :P

Use them both or choose one over the other?

I do like that Duel - Realistic Combat goes for a maximum Compatibility sort of vibe.

Skyrim will level you up FAST at the lower levels, but it slows down soon enough, to the point that you have to start grinding out skills just like you did in the earlier games. But if you're still zooming at level 34, something's wrong. Usually it settles down at level 12 or so.

I doubt the uncapper is causing this. My suspicion is a standing stone combined with a particular playstyle. If you have a standing stone that boosts experience (the three guardian stones or the lovers stone), then dump those. Ssleeping in your own bed while married gives you an XP boost (lover's comfort). And then the way XP curves work, focusing on a small set of skills can boost your XP (as well as underlevel you). Combine these all together and it can be like racing to the finish line.

I used slower leveling mods in Fallout 3/NV, Morrowind, and Oblivion. I'm going to use one for the first time in Skyrim. There are a couple you can find. I can't recommend any as I haven't used them (yet). But searching on Nexus should get a list fairly quickly.

Uncapper can affect the rate at which you level but you would have to alter the XP values yourself it starts with normal values. So unless you edited the Uncapper settings file it hasn't changed anything about the XP rate.

If you had changed something and then uninstalled the mod after starting a new character the effects will likely remain. Removing mods from existsing Skyrim saves is generally a bad idea. Close the game, make sure the mod really is removed, start a new character.

I definitely didn't modify Uncapper and the Save I am using was after it's uninstallation

Thanks, yeah I probably am going to drop the Warrior Stone for the Steed one most likely, and I am pretty Focused on One handed and Heavy Armour, probably explains it, its ironic, people usually like to find exploits to level very fast, but I personally hate doing that, because its like sticking your finger down your throat: it removes content and doesn't feel natural

Definitely has nothing to do with uncapper then.

Yeah you definitely level up too fast. I have started over so many times because I don't like how fast I leveled and how easy things became.

I even stopped using Guardian Stones and sleeping bonuses to slow down leveling, but I get to level 30 way too fast.

I even became a werewolf to help slow down my exp since killing doesn't count towards your level ups.

I think what the game needs is a way to slow down your characters level ups without slowing down your skillup rate. Although slowing your skillup rate down a little might also be a good idea.

I'd like to be able to get a skill to 100, but not have the XP make me level my character as quickly.

My biggest problem though is with lockpicking. I use that skill so often for treasure that it just keeps leveling me. I wish I could slow the exp I receive from lockpicking way down without it slowing my skillup rate. The same goes for speechcraft.

I agree, at higher difficulties, leveling should be slower, or a complex way to make leveling slow via a slider, in fact, i think skills like smithing and alchemyand such should not contribute to levelling up because I once made the mistake of leveling up to dwarven smithing, enchanting some basic weaponry and crafting a few potions, by the time I found out about the blades, my enemies were both simultaneously outclassing me in weaponry and being far below my equipment level.

I'm like level 37 and i still am convinced that its a bug because tis insane, I am already finding glass gear and ebony but I haven't even slain a single dragon

I'm a level 2 finding ebony...<unless it was a special thing> you can choose not to level and just work on skills

The world enemies scale up with player level, but I guess finding stuff might be related to skill levels

I disagree, i shouldn't be almost halfway through the levels and really only doing a modicum of the sidequests

I don't understand you guys. The link I provided above will show you how to slow down leveling and fix the problem but you just seem to ignore it and go on talking about the problem?

The Skyrim Community Uncapper gives you complete control over the rate of leveling. It's tricky to configure so I've provided a link where you can download the ini file for it already configured. You can also adjust the ini to suite your playstyle if you like.

Problem solved.
Whats wrong with discussing the problem after solving it?

Is it not possible for you to change the difficulty level of the game? Or are you maxed out there?
