Nexus Mod Manager isn't adding my desired mods
I recently downloaded all the unoffical Skyrim + DLC patches from Nexus. I also got World Eater Beater, The World Eater Enhanced, Leaf Rest, and Dragon Animation Replacer. I click Add Mod from File as usual, but when I click on the mods I want they don't show up in the mod manager. Sometimes they do, but they show up in the download queue, and even though I click on the download button after I've highlighted the mods I want to download, they don't download even though it says the download is complete! This is super frustrating and I need some answers and solutions. Please and thank you!

check to see if it is correctly mapped to the mod directory and such. You may have downloaded them to a place in your computer that nmm doesnt know to look. Try clicking the folders dropdown at the top and opening the folders to see if anything is in them. If theres stuff there then you could also try resetting the nmm ui. Its at the top in tools. After that Im not sure and I would say reinstall nmm.

Small addition: I know you are clicking the add from file button. It could be that the manager doesnt have the mod directory set up and has no where to place the file. Also, the mod needs to be in its archive still. Dont extract them and try to add the folder, just add the archive. Dont think of it as adding a mod file so much as adding a mod which is stored in another file lol.

If you can, learn how to use Mod Organizer. It keeps your actual Skyrim directory clean and lets you adjust mods order better. There is no "installing in a certain order". If you install in the wrong order, you can simply drag it up the list with no issues. It essentially runs Skyrim in a sandbox.

The one con amongst all the pros of Mod Organizer is.. hard drive space will pile up quicker.
That and maybe it's a tiny bit trickier to learn (there's ESP/ESM load order and then there's data priority; learning when and when not to leave the Overwrite alone[if you don't use profiles, you can just leave it alone])

I hate to come off as advertising, but.. NMM is really.. pretty shoddy.

VERY good idea.
Perhaps you have the folder set to a removable drive that you have removed? If so, hook it back up.

I have my stuff put on a removable drive because I run well over 100 mods.

I like nmm, but only because Im comfortable using it and am happy with its functions. I never used a mod manager until skyrim, I just installed them manually and managed my own load order. I have actually never tried mod organizer but have heard a lot about it. Seems like it is more forgiving of your mistakes.

I always put my mods right on my desktop so they're easy to find. I don't know how NMM couldn't find them since they're right there. I opened up all the folders in the NMM, and only the Immersion and Unassigned folders have any mods in them, and the mods in those folders are ones I've had before, not the ones I listed above.

If they show up in nmm then all you need to do is activate them, check the plugins to make sure everything is checked, and set your load order.

Also check the installation sections on the pages for the mods for any other things you may have to do for the mod to work proper.

Suddenly it's working... I just tried downloading Leaf Rest using NMM instead of manually and now its all working... Don't know what's going on, but thank you all for your suggestions.

yeah, it may not have mapped the directories when you installed it. I was hoping that downloading one with manager would force it to do it.

I dont like the new version over 5.2 , because it has no sound confirmation when a mod is loaded or unloaded , and it has no progression bar for either as well .

I havent updated mine, Im still on 5.2 I usually wait when it gets an update to see feedback before I update it myself.
