SOMEONE HELP DEAR LORD (Magic Menu Crash)
So, i started Skyrim, only to be stabbed in the heart ten times over by the bane of all Skyrimmers. The deadly, game-breaking... Magic. Menu. Crash. I have slain this vile beast once before, but the memory of how i came to do it has been forgotten. I have tried EVERYTHING to slay this invincible demon of nightmares. (Waiting, fast travel, sleeping, making sure i have no status effects, learning a new spell, removing an old spell, doing ALL of it. I even tried allocating more ram to Skyrim, though has shown no signs of prevail. Every single Google search i tried led me to the same things. "Wait a few hours. Fast travel. Learn a new spell." None of these figgin things work. I have SKSE, SkyUI (Which is 98% likely not the problem), and have tried LOOT (Load Order Optimization Tool) to find whats causing it. No signs on anything yet. Whoever reads this, please post all of your thoughts on what might be causing it, even if it doesnt make sense. It could lead me to an understanding of how to fix it. Thank you for reading to all the way down here, I know it was a long post.

Tried to run your current loadorder through tesedit?
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?
manual download only...

I don't recommend to edit/clean mods yourself, unless you know what you're doing..some mods, even official updates, do need bad entries to worok properly, but tesedit should show you where an error could be...

Edit: found this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2508584-magic-menu-crash/
might worth a try...
Edit2: have you seen this one: http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=35200 ?

If you've fixed it before, your answer is probably here somewhere.

Ive already searched every one of those websites listed, (in the google search) they might have taken down the one that led me to fixing it. Im pretty sure i had to delete some file that was corrupted in order to fix it, though...

I tried TesEdit, but it said there were no conflicts or errors. it must be a file in the skyrim folder, not a mod.

Deleting a file? Hmm...did you try the suggestion in my first link? Otherwise I could only think that maybe deleting the Skyrim.ini and/or Skyrimprefs.ini, the one in <yourusername>/mydocuments/, not the one in the steam-skyrim folder might help...(make a backupcopy first)

Tried that just now, and looked at the first link. not much was done besides make the game windowed.

So, apparently, i have come to my conclusion that Amazing Race Tweaks: Wood Elf has caused the crash.
Edit: it did.

Nice that you have figured it out..maybe there's a compatibilty patch out there that makes it work together with the other mods you use?

I'm pretty sure it's just one of your mods causing trouble.

So, it's the Amazing Race Tweaks mods that cause the crash? Thanks for the info, buddy!

Yes. I've seen numerous cases where this is caused directly by one of them. I'm not sure why the author hasn't fixed it yet.
