Vampires wearing silver... HUH?!?
SSSOOOOO... I though vampires were like allergic to silver. Or something like that. I just took a silver necklace off of a dead vampire and realized that that does not seem to match or are the Elder Scrolls vamps different?

Yeah Werewolves were always allergic to Silver in real-life lore.
Vampires was wooden stakes, Garlic and the Sun. Oh and crucifixes...
But they're also masochistic so maybe they keep it for that reason? :p You know, like emo's keep razorblades lolz.

The only silver thing I can think of that a Vampire might have a weakness to is a Silver Cross. Mind you, a cross made out of bread might work just as well, Yup, crosses, garlic, wooden stakes, and sunlight - including fire and sunfire spells - aren't appreciated.

In TES, silver weapons generally deal more damage to undead creatures (such as vampires). However, to my knowledge they have to actually be struck by them for it to matter. Likewise, werewolves may interact with silver as much as they like - it's only if they get hit with the stuff that it'll matter.

And even then, there's no lingering effects (it doesn't act like an "allergic reaction" in the slightest). It just deals more damage, and that's that.

Vampires were allergic to garlic, not silver and they also don't like a stake through the heart.

Werewolves were the ones that were vulnerable to silver, although some new shows claim Lycans are not.
Depends on the source. Dracula was averse to running water, holy objects (crucifixes, communion wafers, holy water, etc) and needed his own soil to rest. However, silver did nothing and he could walk around in broad daylight with impunity. He even got to use his powers at noon and 6 pm.

Dracula is indeed fictional. I look forward to your findings about real-life vampires.

Lol - it's ok, Two Bears. You 'always' talk sense (in my book) and I was just teasing. :-)

And here I had already anticipated you in an apartment with a tape recorder and Brad Pitt.

Vlad Dracula or Vlad Tepes was a real person, although any claims to be one of the undead are uh, unlikely. He was just as vile as any fictional villain. (Yes Dracula was popularised as a vampire in the novel by Bram Stoker and yes it is fiction, but every good story has to have an inspiration)

Many of the stories of his cruelity were also invented as propaganda and slander by his political enemies as well.

Isn't that werewolves? Maybe vampires too. Acutally yes, vampires as well.

About vampires, I think James Ralph pretty much had the last say about vampires:

Vampires can be weakened by Tomato Sauce if you want. As they don't and couldn't possibly exist, as long as they follow the base tradition of what a Vampire is, the small details don't matter.
