I have two dogs as pets (Torom and Sceolang) would the kids still bring wild pets home?
So at first I adopted Aeta, so I could keep Sceolang as a pet and then I thought if I adopt Erith I would have both Sceolang and Torom (Erith's dog) as pets for my home. Low and behold it worked (Torom sits in one spot and Sceolang messes up my kitchen D: )!!

I'm just curious as to wether or not they'll bring home a wild animal or do both dogs not allow that since I've read on skyrim forums that you can have a dog and a wild pet.

I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place.

Yes, only dogs are pets, you can have one pet and one critter per family I think (or is it one critter per child, I forget)

Either way foxes, mudcrabs, skeevers etc count as "critters" and can be obtained in addition to "family pet" that is to say an PC animal follower (dog, there are no others in vanilla)

Torom is I believe not strictly a "family pet" as his AI package tells him to follow Erith so wherever she goes, he goes.

Thanks a bunch!! I guess it's just a waiting game now for the critters

I believe you have to stay away from the family home for a few ingame days for the event(s) to trigger, its purely random as to whether it'll be a critter, or an argument scene, etc.

wow, didn't know there are argument scenes. I guess I'll have to find a long quest line to avoid going home since it's so tempting to spruce up the place :P

Its quite amusing they call each other names "Draugr breath!" "Mammoth nose!" "You look like a horker!" "Well, you smell like one!" etc. You get to break it up or enjoy the scene.
