Lydia just keeps walking off
Everytime I crouch, Lydia walks away from me.

I have nothing special happens when I crouch, as far as I know. I don't turn invisible or anything.

Anyone else having this problem? Or can anyone point me in the right direction where I can dig for the solution?

your sneak skill must be high enough for her not to see you, is she your follower or did you release her to do her thing. When you sneak/crouch does your sneak meter stay closed or open as she walks away...

I don't release her. The eye stays closed.

I don't think that my sneak skill is overly high. Its under 30.

Also, I can tell her to wait in a building, an inn for example, then if I exit the inn and crouch while outside, she'll exit the inn and head home, but when I catch her and talk to her, according to her dialogue options, she hasn't been released as a follower.

She's finally decided that she's no longer sworn to carry your burdens...

Sorry, that doesn't help. Have you installed any mods that change follower behaviour, because otherwise that's a weird bug?

I have the Ultimate Follower Overhaul mod, but I wouldn't think that it would negatively affect anything.

Just my opinion: AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks). Aside from that I think it is simply a load issue. Use Loot or hand-sort to the modder's instructions. All I got. Lydia behaved perfectly with AFT.
