Anise's Cabin
Anise is dead, I didn't kill her. She died at the hands of some mages that attacked me while near to her cabin. I finished them off and scaveneged for supplies. Her shack id delapidated but there is a basement with enchanting table and alchemy lab. MY question is, now that she's dead, why is it stealing to take her supplies in her shack or in the basement? Why are they still owned by her? She's a pile of ash by the mages doing.

Is there a mod for such a thing?

Tis part of the game (unless modded out). Wait til you have access to a fence and then clean her out.

Meanwhile, if you are a newbie character, you can use her place as a starter home. If you wish to tidy up, just steal all her stuff and then put it in jus one of her containers.

If I recall correctly, her place does not reset and is a safe place to store your stuff untill you can afford better digs.

Alternatively, picking the locks at the half moon mill allowed me to take anything and she's still alive (maybe). She looks ill and like she might be a vampire.
Yes new character, not going after main questline just yet. Im level seven now and i have had few encounters with thugs. Trying to avoid them and hunt. Also scavenging any equipment i can find along the way. Not sure how long it would takle me to afford a home this way. Quite a while I imagine. Trying to avoid killing any people if i can help it. Sneaking around places thugs are known to covort.
Well if you die in a war and your home is abandoned out in the woods, in this world and in this era, i dont see why not.

Only a couple of the containers are safe.
