Why is the imperial quest line so broken?
I mean really.Its all good until after you defend whiterun.then you have to go to fort greenwall which is bugged but then after you figrure out how to fix that ANOTHER bug comes up.where you cant get legate rikki to give you orders.This is really annoying

I agree. I did not encounter any serious bugs, when I played the vanilla Civil War campaing.
(I have been using ApolloDown's Civil War Overhaul after that.)

What sort of bugs have been bothering you?

the one that i just encounter was legate not giving me orders.

UESPWiki has notes about bugs related to this. It also suggests fixes for them.

Note, that this is the main page for Imperial campaing. There should not be a lot of visible spoilers, altough stopping to read campaing notes will of course provide them. Bugs section can be found at the end of the page.

I also see a lot of bugs not mentioned on the stormcloacks page especially around the siege of solitude ....

Did you check under Battle of Solitude from the list? Main page only answers to bugs that are realted to overal quest line progression.

Well I did however played both sides and I must say I had less problems on the imperial side.

That's for sure. Despite my known dislike toward Ulfric, I once played the game with a stormcloak 2H amazon. I had to load the several times in front of Solitude, because I just could not get in. I ended up loading the game from before I had reported the last mision in. That finally worked.

It kind of takes the joy away, when inspirational speach before grand battle turns to annoyingly long wait to see, if the damn door even opens.
