they are not available in the game but if you are using cutting room floor mod than you will have a quest related to those notes they are on her desk in her dorm

thats odd, cause i use the cutting room floor mod and i stole everything in her room! but her notes were not among the loot... or maybe i sold them, maybe they were not tagt as quest item?
idk, i also use unofficial patch and i think the unofficial patch puts that quest (and other unfinished quests) back in the game?
0laf_. Nov 1, 2014 @ 12:57am
firstly omitted things are not bugs so they dont normally needs patching unofficial patches i think dont fix them or bring them coz its outside of their scope cutting room floor mod on the other hand restores omitted things back into the game. i dont know about the quest item tag but if you have the quest then they should be there i never had that kinda of problem look around her room maybe they fell off the table somewhere near on the ground

i dont know (!) but usually unofficial patches restore content aswell, i know that from other games, i didnt check that fact for skyrim, i will do that later :)
and u r probably right, the notes could have fallen from her desk, i will check that later aswell :)
for now the console command worked and i will return the book... later :D for now i am in ustengrav, disturbing jurgen windhelms rest!

edit: i checked the side from unofficial patch and it seems u r right, they dont say a word about restoring game content, they only say that they fixed bugs.

it didnt work, i have the notes in my inventory (thx to console) but nyria doesnt offer a new dialoge option :/ i also tried to place it via pickpocket in her inventory but it didnt change anything either :/

ok final update: I FOUND THE NOTES! they were UNDER the table :D and when i took the notes i got a quest update message and when i talked to nirya she finally accepted the notes and i could finish the quest!
2bad console command notes didnt trigger it, that was way to much stress for 100 septims

I don't know if you'll see this but WHAT TABLE? I'm playing Skyrim with Cutting Room Floor installed for the first time and I want to finish this quest for Nirya but placing Faralda's Notes on the ground and picking it up or placing it directly in my inventory with console commands doesn't advance the quest. I've looked everywhere in her room (normally and with noclip/tcl). If I can't actually find then my only option is to tell Faralda that Nirya wanted me to steal her notes (which will close the quest).

Won't work for quests were you have to get a specific copy of items, also be very wary of using additem command on QUEST items.

Oh okay. It's alright. I ended the quest just by telling Faralda about what Nirya wanted me to do and ended the quest. I don't really like posting on reddit (or even browsing it tbh) but if I'm not feeling lazy maybe I'll make a post on a the skyrim or elder scrolls reddit. From what I can tell there are no videos on youtube showing where that item is. Thanks for replying though (especially since it was a huge necro).

I know this thread is old at this point, but I'll leave this here just in case it helps anyone else. I was actually able to find it in a later playthrough but I don't remember any details about where it was. It's a good thing you made your post. I haven't played Skyrim for almost a month now because I finally started playing Fallout 4.
