Shor's Stone Settlement attacks.

Has anyone else experienced this town getting relentlessly attacked by random encounters upon visiting?

At first I thought it was just obligatory enemy battles upon first visiting, but (and this is no exaggeration) upon visiting the town was attacked by 4 bandits, then I cleared out the local mine of spiders came outside and 5 vampires attacked, looted their bodies and walked back into the center of town to be greeted by 3 more bandits. Killed them and then headed out of town when a bear ran into the town... All this under 20 minutes. Out of control.

If you have Dawnguard then random Vampire attacks will be everywhere in each town ... There's a mod which totally stops this until you actually go to the dawnguard headquarters!

This works very well at cutting out all vampire attacks in towns until you strat Dawnguard quests!

All those attacks does seem rather extreme!
Do you have any extra mods that enable more realism or tougher battles?

I have had the same kind of problem on several occassions. I discovered that it was being caused by fast traveling all the time. I was once attacked by 2 dragons, a sabre cat, 4 bandits, 3 wolves and a bear (all at the same time) as I stepped out of a cave near Riften.

I once had Vampires and Mirak cultists standing together waiting for me..... as I exited a cave.

As I was sneaking as I exited they didn't respond until I attacked... but once I did and the death hounds charged... the cultists threw spells , the vampires were trying to drain my magic and health ..... that's when the dragon joined in the fight and it was a tough fight with me needing several potions to survive it! But it gets your heart racing .... like you have just passed a real achievement!

There was no way I would have survived that attack if it hadn't been for a suit of armor that came with a player home mod I was using at the time. It fortified everything 500 - 1000%.

The last 3 times entering the Shor's Stone I have seen 2 smugglers standing around.... like they are casing the place and waiting to see how often I visit...! I thought about casting frenzy on them to get them to attack me... But wasn't going to just straight out murder them in front of the guards
