Meridia's Beacon Glitch?

I started Meridia's daedric quest, but it shows that her beacon is located in the Dawnstar sanctuary. The chest that it was in is no longer there because I completed the Dark Brotherhood questline. I also do not have a previous save to go back to. Any ideas on what I can do?

Do you have a mod that allows you to cache quest items in containers because I think that quest items could not be dropped. Or is it still in your possesion. If it is going to the correct spot with the beacon should activate the quest. If you no longer have the beacon because you stashed it in a tempory location, most tempoary locztions revert back to their previous contents, and this is not a glitch. Only permanent domaciles that you own keep their contents until you add or take away contents. Asto not keeping saves, what can I say that won't get you upset.

I never received the beacon in the first place. The marker that shows where the chest is, is no longer in the game becasue of the Dawnstar Sanctuary renovations. The marker points me to an empty wall where there used to be a chest.

there is no quest marker leading to the Beacon, you must find it in a random chest, finding it triggers the quest

The beacon is random can be at start of game or later and can be in any quests you are doing, once found and you pick it up, this action triggers the quest.
Edit: Or just exploring a cave etc.

I have already triggered the quest by talking to Meridia, though.

try player.additem 4e4e6 1 in that case. So you went to Kilkreath and 'She' spoke to you first then? Never had that before, personally. :-)

The temple you need to clear is under the statue, not around Dawnstart,
