Using the Skull of Corruption
Having a hard time figuring out how to use this weapon properly. It's description lists its base damage as 2, but its description says it does 20 damage, 50 if charged with the dreams of sleeping people. It has a charge-status-bar that appeared to be full when I got it.

So I took it out and used it to fight a horker while checking the horker's health using console commands. The damage was 7.5. The charge-status-bar did drop a bit and I could use a soul gem to recharge it.

Next I took it and used it on a sleeping person and I got a message saying that the skull now had 5 dreams. I then woke that person and fought him with it and it was now doing 20 damage.

My questions are three:

How do I make it do 50 damage?

Is this a particularly useful weapon?

Anything else I should know about it?

Maybe I should mention that the Skull of Corruption is a scepter-style Daedric artifact weapon found in the Nightcaller Temple outside of Dawnstar during the mission Walking Nightmare.

Don't you have to use it n sleeping peeps to empower it?

Yeah, zap sleeping people to increase the enchantment damage.

Um... "Next I took it and used it on a sleeping person and I got a message saying that the skull now had 5 dreams. I then woke that person and fought him with it and it was now doing 20 damage."

At least it adds a little bit to the life of a stealth thief, which is pretty pathetic in Skyrim. Now you have another reason to break into someone's house at night and sneak around.

oh ok yes, for RP and all that sure go crazy with it, thought you were using it for a main weapon
and yea I wish they made sneaking around more, I dunno riskier, or better yet you can only do certain actions after dark and only when people sleep / arent watching yea

Is it that bad as a main weapon? 50 damage every time you click it seems pretty good, at least for my level 13 toon.

It's a great weapon at the beginning of the game and if you adopt two kids they're an easy way to safely charge the thing up, I know.... Mhuahahah :-)

Hmmm. I've never been the least bit interested in adoption before, but that does cast a new light on things! <weg>
