Nexus Mod Manager Won't Launch
Alright I've been dealing with this issue for a while now, so obviously I've done some digging and it seems as if my problerm has never happend to else. Anyway, hopefully you guys could help me out.

So let me tell you exactly what happens - I click NMM, nothing happens. I've tried looking up how to fix this, but anything I read about NMM not opening just isn't like my problem. Either it's a connection problem, or it acts like it's launching then doesn't; not at all like mine.

Obviously I've tried to use the other solutions, but they didn't work. At first I thought it was because I tried to install 64 bit Java for something, so I just reinstalled java normally. But that didn't work, so clearly it's something else.

Things I have tried:

-going into user.config
-running it as administrator
-deleting a file in skyrim's folders
-reinstalling Java

That's about it guys, hopefully you could help me out here.

*Edit 1*
I found one 'fix' for me that didn't last long, but I guess can't use the new version of NMM so I downgraded. But I can't login into downgraded verions, 'which is a horrible design choice from my opinion'. Anyway, still would appreicate the some help.

*Edit 2*
Fixed some disgusting grammar issues, also I haven't had this problem in a long time. I mentioned this in the comments, but it might have gone unnoticed.

But for me it seemed like it must've been something on my computer at the time, because when I did a fresh install it worked perfectly fine. So if the problem is that bad - try finding the thing that's causing it, or in extreme cases wipe your ♥♥♥♥ing HDD or SSD.

That's what ended up working for me, and there is probably a way better solution in the comments so go look for that.

I know this discussion is probably dried up, but I just moved my NMM files over to programfiles (x86) and that fixed it right up.
Yeah, I was kinda suprised this discussion lasted this long. But I will probably throw in my 2 cents.

If I remember correctly I ended up reseting my computer because it was really cluttered and gross, then when I reinstalled NMM it started working again. I'm pretty sure "No this is patrick" found the answer. Only one that seems to make most sense.

This works: go to C:\Program Files\Nexus Mod Manager\uninstall and use the uninstall instead of just deleting the NNM file and then re-download NNM :)

Bam.

Doing this fixed it and all your mods will still be there.
I had the exact same problem. Confirming that uninstalling and removing all configuration files when it asks you if you would like to, and then reinstalling (put in program files X86 just to be sure) fixed this problem. Hope it works for everyone else.

PS: the new instillation of NMM will remember all the mods you had before uninstalling.
PPS: keeping it in the regular version of Program files worked for me as well.

Happy modding! :whiterun:

Try moving the nexus folder to the program 86 files or somewhere other than the normal program files. For some reason if it is in program files for some time its stops working

i did this literally like a min ago and its works now.

This worked for me:

Uninstall NMM using the uninstaller that came with it and when it asks you if you want to delete your config settings, say yes.

Reinstall it and you should still have all your mods and it should work now.

Give this person a cookie ! you saved me.

I know this is old, but this fix barely works.

My friend i believe i may have found the solution since i had this same problem and just fixed it >;3

SO! to begin right click the nexus setup program> properties> than unblock it should be in general or security but itll say unblock.

i believe this is because of your firewall which wont run unknown downloads from the internet all of this can be changed via firewall security settings.

hope this works i was also frustrated that i couldn't open the laucher
Okay so I've been have this issue and came across this thread. I fixed it using the delete of the user file mentioned above

What I found worked best was a combination of fixes I found in a few minutes of google-hunting.

Firstly, locate where you mods are stored within the NMM directory and delete your recently installed mods (one of them may have broken your version of NMM temp. i.e. Interesting NPC's)

Secondly, locate your Install Info folder within Skyrim folder within your NMM directory and remove all .xml log files within the Skyrim folder. (DO NOT DELETE 'overwrites' and 'mod' folder)

Thirdly, locate your uninstall folder within your NMM directory and launch the 'uninstall' application.

Lastly, re-download and install NMM from the Nexus. Your NMM will launch and begin to search your computer for installed games!
I've been having this problem and this worked for me. Old thread but hey sometimes people should find things. Haha but mine I didn't need reinstall.. it just like rebooted from factory with my mods and such..
I figured out how to fix it. go to C/ProgramFiles/NexusModManager/ then go into uninstall run the exe file say no then open the Installer and install it to a different place. :) good luck everyone reading this

...I...I can't believe it. Somehow, it actually worked...
I renamed the Nexus client to f*** and it worked. Of course you don't need to rename it to this but it fixed it for me. This may be due to Windows 10 and it's problem with exe files.

My Nexus Mod Manager did not start aswell, but it showed it on task manager so i did this :
I located my Nexus Client app data and deleted a user.config file which can be found here : C:\Users\YOUR OWN COMPUTER USER NAME(CHANGE THIS!!!!)\AppData\Local\Black_Tree_Gaming\NexusClient.exe_Url_2eir2d35cqbpwgw1etv4i5pyvaneja0r
There you will end up in a folder with bunch of folders which have numbers only. Those are versions of NMM
Klick the latest version and delete the user.config file in there and you will be fine.

thx, easy, simple fix that works
Ok, all I did was add exceptions to my firewall for Nexus. If you have Windows 10, that would be your best bet. I haven't had a problem in 3 months with it stopping... AVG users make sure you check the box for updates changes when you apply it. Some Win 10 programs don't mix well with firewalls, so you have to add them to the list.
