Troubleshooting: Unable to pick or interact with locks
I've had a bit of trouble modding Skyrim, between CTD's, NVIDIA's new patch messing up my ENB, missing requisite mods, but save for a little help on the Nexus forum, I was able to fix my game and get it running.

This problem however, I've got no idea what it is. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod I was planning to use to overhaul the lockpicking process, I've verified the game cache, but that's all I think would help.

My computer's details: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tDHvjX

Skyrim path in computer: E:\Program files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim

Fully updated, all DLC's

Using NMM, SKSE, TES5edit, and LOOT

So what happens when you try to interact ? Is there a prompt (button/key indicator) that just doesn't do anything or nothing happens like when you're staring at a static object ?

•Note: If lockpicking is not work then try to delete 'interface\lockpickingmenu.swf'.
Did you try that?

There is the typical "Press A to pick lock", but when I press the button, nothing happens. I've tried with the keyboard as well, to no avail. Nothing at all happens.

Ohhh I did miss that, I apologize. Let me try that.

I deleted lockpickingmenu.swf and there was no change unfortunately.

Perhaps one of your mods alters the lockpicking but requieres MCM/SkyUI or SKSE and you have neither of both installed, hence the malfunctioning lockpicking.
I'd have checked your mods myself but the way you listed them makes it very tedious to read.

Is there a better way to format it? I apologize for the mess that is the post xp

Also, I may have missed something, but I went through them all in the plugin list, and I believe I have all required mods. I do have SKSE and SKYUI, but I don't know what MCM is, at least not from the acronym.

It's the Mod Configuration Menu that comes with SkyUI

Explain like I'm five how I would go about getting a formatted list into this thread? Sorry, I went into where Skyrim's saved hoping to find a text file or something, I'm guessing that's not the way.

I think the name of the mods would be enough. Talking about the actual name not the .esp / .esm file.

NMM has a Plugins view that displays your current load order. You can see to white icons at the left hand bar. These icons will allow you to import or export your load order in a TXT-file. Removing that extra text from filenames already makes the list much easier to read.

I don't reacall how the mod names list can be exported from NMM. I have never used such feature and I am using Mod Organizer instead, where all this data is available as TXT-files. Hopefully someone who is still sticking with NMM can help you with that.

To matter at hand:
- Lock Overhaul is notoriously bugged right not. It is a strange mod, because it can work for some players like a charm, but cause a complete lock chaos to others. It haven't been updated for a long time and development have been stopped. The fact that you have several overlapping mods does not make things any easier. Perhaps you should consider giving up from it?
- Sneak tools are already featured in Skyrim Redone.
- Renee's Crime Overhaul overlaps with Lock Overhaul
- Realistic Crime Radius overlaps with Lock Overhaul and SkyRe. (Minor overlap, not severe.)
- You have Smiting Perk Overhaul with SkyRe. I strongly recommend that you will never use other mods to interfere with SkyRe perk system.

It might be a good idea to rebuild your mod list and restart the game.

Okay, I removed
-Sneak Tools
-Lock Overhaul
-Smithing Perks Overhaul
Realistic Crime Radius, should I remove it? If SkyRe does as good of a job, I'll gladly remove it.

Totally fine with restarting at this point. Would it be enough to uninstall all mods through NMM, reinstall using proper procedures, then start a new game or is there a more indepth way that you are supposed to do it?
