- Exit Steam
- Go to Steam folder
- Remove folder named appcache
- Close your comptuer. Let it rest a while and start it again.
- Start Steam. It will now load a bit, while inspecting your game.
- From Steam client Library view, right click the game with your mouse.
- Select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This will replace your modified master files - including Skyrim.esm.
* 1 file will always fail to validate. This is related to how Steam detects your graphic configurations and has no effect to your game.
In the future: Do not clean Skyrim.esm with TES5Edit.
skyrim seems to be fine even though i played it without doing what you said
should there be anything else i should worry about?
Good grief.
Why did you even ask?
Do as you wish. Just do not write "**** BETHESDA for *****ing up my GAME. I CANT PLAY ANYMORE!!!" -thread, because we had enough of those for similar reasons.
i asked because i thought it was going to be something much worse
and i wont make a thread saying bethesda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my game
if my game CTDs on startup thats my own fault
If it does, then that is something we can actually fix. :D
