How to heal horse with console?

So since horses can't regenerate health, Its a waste of 1k gold. So I have to break down and use the console to get my golds worth. I know I'm getting close or heading the right direction. I learned that any player command can be used on npcs, so for the healing I was ganna use the sethealth command, |player . sethealth <#>| and so what I decided to do was replace player with the ref number of the horse that i get when i click on the horse. "(0004b12a). And so I typed it like this. |0004b12a . sethealth 100|(since i dont no the actual value of the horses max health, i just put in a estimate number.) Then I get that it doesn't no '0004b12a'. I've tried parenthesis and quotations that didn't work either. Is there something minor that I'm missing? like a space, or brackets or quations around something? Or its a whole nother command for npc health? Thank you in advance.

I have no idea i never tried. I don't know how to use restoration spells or how to get them yet as I am still failry new to this game. level 6.

Healing hands?
And dont whine about one horse, you can have several killed by wolfs etc.
Dont use console you can end up ruin your save.

I have healing but not healing hands. I am only level 15 in restoration. And I wouldnt be whining if the horse didnt cost 1k lol. And i used console very early in the game to skip a bugged mission.my save was fine. ik some console commands will def have some problems like messing with the AI and stuff like that, but little things like health ,gold and skipping a misson, i don't think will do any harm.

you rarely ruin your save that only really happens if you use tons of commands

technically correct, however the correct command is

resurrect

this will work most of the time. if it does not try this command after targeting them and getting the prid id at the top middle in quotes...

if the horse has only lost some of its health, use healing hands, or grand healing (if standing near your horse).
some of the restoration spells such as fast healing, or close wounds, will only heal your character. and some are used to heal your allies, companions or, in your case, your horse.

I am not sure if it works in Skyrim like it did in Oblivion, but I used to give my horse a ton of healing potions using console and whenever the horse took damage it would drink a potion.

It was helpful when taking falling damage so the horse wouldn't die so easily and I wouldn't have to be so careful.

I play a sneaky bandit type of Dragonborn and I have found some horses turn you in. Yes there are Mr. Eds in Skyrim. I always kill the horse if I am attacking a horse or such. As a Werewolf I get the perk to eat anamils and horses are prime meat when you can get that perk.

I read it in a forum. Oh so wow they do regenrate health but its only 0.5? and only in combat? Whats the point of it slowly regnerating combat lol. that means it wont regentate while not in combat. thats a 100 gold horse right there def not worth no 1k lol

Horse will regenerate it's own health, if it's dead use resurrect, also you can set it to essential so it wont die in future.

Oh okay I will use healing hands or grand healing in replace of thes console command once I unlock them.
