just in case anyone is interested, balimund (riften blacksmith), octieve san (solitude winking skeever), gregor (heljarchen hall housecarl), cosnach (markarth silver blood inn), onmund (college of winterhold), brelyna maryon (college of winterhold), romlyn dreth (riften bee & bard), wilhelm (ivarstead vilemyr inn), filnjar shor's stone, and vladimar (i forgot where i ran into him) are all guys who will marry you if you are a male character.
i still think that the programmers could have put in a sex check while programming this section of the game. i think that they were making a social statement.
no problem with me! i wonder why most of the bandits are woman and if they were willing to marry me too.
did anyone ever try marrying the same sex in the game? does the minister care? does the children you adapt care? do you run across anyone in the game who cares?
thanks all.
Something so simple doesn't always have to be a social statement. Putting in a sex check requires additional programming and could potentially alienate customers, so why bother?
In my experience the bandits are about 50/50 men and woman and I'm sure there's a mod floating around that makes a few of them marriable.
If you're in a same sex marriage in the game no one cares. The children will simply say the same lines as if you were a female character married to a male when they speak of your spouse. On my gay redguard character I do not recall ever running across an npc who commented on it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥ theres a lot of oestrogen flying around my mansion...
Oh, and only 3 beds.
Strange game.
But does it actually mattter? I certainly don't find it offensive but in a more libral and tollerant society that many of us live in, does a person's sexuality actually matter all that much? With thread subjects like this it means that people of certain tastes will still feel the need to tell others what their personal tastes are when, in actual fact, it doesn't matter. Personal preference should be exactly that, personal.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the people need to hide their sexuality, I am saying that choosing to love one of the same or opposite gender matters to me about as much as whether someone likes peanut butter (chaurus or otherwise). Yes, they may enjoy something I don't but it doesn't actually matter nor is it really that interesting. I think it would be more interesting if I found out that Ballimund was a fan of Trance or Drum and bass, all things considered. :oD
Other than that, yeah, it's been covered. I don't think that it's accurate to say that everyone in Skyrim is bisexual, but, rather, that the player gets to basically choose who they think follows what sexual orientation.
I have played one game as Redguard female and married Serana. Ohh :)
Neither do I like being hit on by women as a man but here we are.
