Orthorn missing along with wolves? [Spoiler]

Oddly enough I didn't see this in a google search -- I'm guessing I'm not the first to find Orthorn missing in the Hitting The Books quest. I'm mainly trying to see if it is a conflict with Better Vampire mod and wonder if more surprises like this await. Luckily this one didn't break the quest. LOOT doesn't show anything on errors.

The one thing I did different this time is let out the vampires and they attacked the mages instead of me -- I guess because I'm a vampire?

Anyway, not a huge deal but again just trying to figure out what happened and see if anyone else has experienced this. :)

I've never experienced it myself, but I don't think Better Vampires causes it. I've used the mod a while back to try playing as a vampire character, but wasn't satisfied with how it made the need to feed a daily chore. I don't believe it makes Orthorn vanish all of a sudden because the mod is only meant to improve vampirism. Try contacting the mod author; the mod creator might be able to confirm whether Better Vampires is the source of this issue or not.
