With the same Mods?
Could it be that with that high a character some corruption has crept into his saves?
I have wanted to try the Become a Bard Mod... thanks for the reminder.
So which Bard mod is it that your using?
Become a Bard Anduniel Songbook Expansion - Nexus Mods
www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48836
Or is it "Become a bard" http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31680 I looked at a video of this one and it comes up as File not found ...so possibly your mod has been deleted or withdrawn?
Have you checked the mod and it's posts?
The author was banned from the Nexus. She does have another site where you can download. You can read about it at the above site.
If the mod were taken down, my other characters would not work.
You are probably right, something has become corrupted. It has happened before on high level characters. It's a pity you cannot do everything with one character. I guess the game file gets so big it just can't save correctly. There are still quests I've never done. Incredible game.
The thing is, it says it's not necessary if you're running SKSE after a certain version because it's already included, but until I installed SSME my game was crashing every single time, without fail. Now, it only crashes every couple of hours or so... :-P Still, it's an improvement. I just have to remember to save more often because I never know when it will—*scchhkkk!*
You could also try (if you haven't already) sorting everything with LOOT, and running a save game cleaner (also at Nexus and around) to see if you can "clean-up" your high-level character save. Can't hurt, as long as you keep backups.
Becoming a bard would fit well into playing in the Luxury suite as well .....
I guess it's true though with the amount of modding in Skyrim it's surprising it doesn't crash a lot more! We just need to use as many tools as possible to keep it going strong
I get the concept of a save game cleaner--but what is LOOT?
I'm using which ever one works. I also at times have Loot putting my bash patch in the middle of the load order for no apparent reason. It's like it works every other time but no idea why that would be.
