I cant hurt Alduin, I have tried everything!!!

I started playing this game 2 years ago and still havent killed alduin! I have probably tried to fight him like 487 times but I can never damage him... even when I was lvl 58 with daedric bow with 20 fire damage and tons of daedric arrows and archery lvl 100!!! He cant die! I have dragonrend and I have Dragonbane combined with a mod weapon thats even better against dragons... no damage att all...!!!

I have been searching the internett for many hours now for a solution on this but cant get any! I have tried ~kill and clicking on him, I have tried without the ~ thing... I have waited to attack him for like 5 minutes after he is done speaking and still nothing... I have one mod that makes dragons stronger... I have deleted it and tried, nothing happends...

please tell me what too do! I have tried EVERYTHING!!! FOR 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ YEARS!!!!!!! D,x

What part are you trying to kill kim? On top of the mountain or with the 3 heros of the dead?

There is a bug when you are trying to kill him on the mountain somtimes he will go invulnerable if you attack him too soon, you have to wait till the speech is over and he starts flying. It is a old known bug.

Yeah on the mountain and I wrote it in the text above that I waited like 5 mins after the speech was done and I started attacking him! NOTHING HAPPEND!!! ):

You been trying to kill this guy for 2 years now, I killed him at a much younger level than yourself with weaker stats than yourself, on Master. yet you claim you do 0 damage. I cant take this thread seriously but I'll try.
Did you equip arrows?

You can't just knock his health down and talk to him, as for the other fight you defeat him but you don't kill him he just vanishes from game and you don't get his soul.

WoW, and your like a god or something mr. super great Shrapnel??! OFC I equip arrows, Im archery lvl 100, dont you have any sense of logic in you??!! And so if I was a higher level than you where, that just means that I take way more damage so I should have an even bigger chance of killing him"

WTF do you think Im stupid or something, its a glitch or issue as any other stop being so damn cockie. As I have red in other forums alduin is a very easy kill with the right equipment, I had 157 bow damage + 20 fire damage... I dont think he is going to just die by me looking at him or something...

Guys please try to make some use of yourself... come with suggestions or thing you know can be the problem and tell me about it... thanks!

Have you tried using the Dragonrend shout? IIRC he's invunerable while in the air.

I had the same problem and the following worked for me:

1. Load a saved game (one where you havent read the scroll yet)
   
2. Make a new save
   
3. Restart skyrim, loading the newly created save
   
4. Continue the quest and let Alduin finish his speech and turn hostile towards you
   
5. Before attacking use Dragonrend first of all
   
6. FINISH HIM! :)

Wiki on Alduin
By completing the quest Elder Knowledge, the Dragonborn collected an Elder Scroll. The Dragonborn will need to return to Paarthurnax atop the Throat of the World and read the scroll at the Time Wound. When the Elder Scroll is read, a cinematic scene will begin. The Dragonborn will see an image of three Nordic heroes. The Dragonborn will then learn all three words of the Dragonrend shout, which will be used to defeat Alduin. Once the Dragonborn comes out of the vision, Alduin will attack them and Paarthurnax. Dragonrend is used on Alduin to make him land on the ground, where the Dragonborn can then begin to damage him. After Alduin is defeated, he will fly off and escape.

Next fight

The three heroes will use the shout as well. After Alduin summons the mist again, the heroes eventually say to use it again. Alduin will now summon the mist for the last time. After a small dialogue, using the shout for the third time will get rid of the mist and Alduin will appear.

Alduin's Fall

Now that Alduin has appeared, he must be killed.

Tactics for defeating AlduinEdit

The Dragonrend shout can be used on him as soon as possible to get him on the ground, where he can be attacked. Dragonrend can be used repeatedly to stun him and keep the other heroes alive. If he can't be killed before he defeats the other three heroes, lots of healing potions or spells will be needed to stay alive, as his fire breath attack is quite strong.

A simple tactic to defeat him is to use the same tactic used in the fight at the Throat of the World. A shield bash/stun will stop him from using his fire breath along with using the Unrelenting Force shout, and in between shield stuns, it should be possible to get two to three swings with a weapon in. Between using Dragonrend and stunning him, it should be a simple matter of ensuring that health doesn't drop too low from his physical attacks, plus maintaining stamina to use the shield bash.

Unfortunately you do not get his soul meaning he has gone to a another dimension, its the same as what the elder scroll did. Technically you have killed him, but leaves the door open, Paarthurnax states this.

I read the scroll,takes me back in time,learn the dragonrend shout,come back forward in time,equip dragonrend,look up a little bit,alduin is hanging in the air I hit him with dragonrend, he flys around a bit and lands and i attack him. As the shout wares off I hit him with the shout again and keep attacking with my dagger. He fineley says he will out last me. I have played this game 15 or more times [4750] hours and it works every time. hope this helps.
