Training/Skills not working
Started a new game, and it seems to be glitched. Training books don't work. Reading them doesn't add to the skill it's supposed to increase. Paying for training only works part of the time. If I ask for training, only about half of what I pay for increases. If I do a quest that is supposed to be paid for in training, I get no increase in skill points.

Most of the mods I have all worked in previous games. I've only added two new mods. The Sophia follower, and Realistic Needs. Anyone have the same problems or solutions?

This seems to me like a mod problem some mods I have added have really messed my game up. One of your mods might be working with your old or it could just b one of the new mods.

Thanks Fran25. This was a brand new install on a new system. As I said, the only two additional mods were the ones I mentioned. I removed the Realistic Needs mod, and skill training works better now. It still glitches on paid skill training, but I figure that's probably a leftover from the uninstalled mod, and I'm going to have to live with it.

If you want to risk it there is a console command to train yourself 1 point at a time. Let me know if you do not know it. But it might glich up your game again.

I had a training glicth on a dungeon mod I installed so some mods do not work well
with Skyrim.

I know about the console commands for this, and a bunch of other things, but I'd rather not resort to them. I've glitched games badly in the past using console commands. Thanks anyway.

Realistic Needs and diseases requires players to satisfy their needs, or suffer negative effects. Sleep is one of these requirements. Failure to rest will reduce your ability to learn skills, untill character has recovered.

8 hours of rest is usually enought to clear the penalty. Mod creates a balance by rewarding players by bonuses to learning, when they have rested well.

My guess is that there was nothing wrong in your game. You just didn't notice your character being tired and not being able to learn in full effect. Could this have been the case here?

Effects are visible in the same window where your other effects are shown. Clicking "P" will open the main menu, where effects menu is usually either last or close to it. With Realistic Needs and Diseases, "N" will also give text-based inormation about your character state.
