After few days you will receive message about your housecarl waited too long and she will return home after that.

After they wait for a couple in game days they will go to their default spawn. Which will be either the hold capital building or the hold player home if you own it. You may not get the letter/courier notifying you. Just check the capital or player home after a while and they should be hanging around. The Hearthfire homes are scripted to allow them to wander around outside the house as well as in it so be sure to check outside if they arent inside. NPC's dont go into the Hearthfire home basements.

You can also lose your housecarl permanently. I left Lydia behind one day and the courier came up to me with an inheritance letter. She got killed on her way home. :-( So being a kind boss I reloaded to an earlier save to get her back.

Followers are supposed to quit their position after two or three days and return to the place you originally found them. However they do not fast travel, they walk or presumably ride if they have their own horse, so it could take even longer depending on where you left them.

If you're unable to recruit another follower, chances are she hasn't actually given up, but is lost somewhere. If you save, and use the console to move yourself to her, you can find out where she is, then reload and go to where she was (it's best not to use console commands and then carry on if you can avoid it). You'll need to look her up on UESP and I think the command is

Player.moveto

And on the same line you type her full refID. This will probably be written on the UESP with XX at the start, those must be replaced with the two digit number that represents the Hearthfire DLC in your load order (assuming you mean Rayya). The easiest way to find that out in game is to type

Help "hinge"

NB do NOT use the player.placeatme command, this will spawn an extra copy of her which is absolutely no use to you and will definitely cause problems.

Rayya is the Falkreath housecarl and her Ref Id is xx05216, where the xx is the load order no of Hearthfires.

You will need to use the console and the safest way is to move TO her. Tilde key
Type player.moveto xx005216 then press enter.

In my load order I have:
00 Skyrim.esm
01 Update.esm
02 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
03 Dawnguard.esm
04 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
05 Hearthfires.esm
So if I wanted to move to Rayya I would type player.moveto 05005216

i have tryed the console command but it didnt work. it kinda said the skript is not saved. but she is also not in my home or in the house of the jarl of falkreath. and i still cant fetch another npc to help me.

You need to type the command exactly as shown.
Turbo Billy Apr 22, 2015 @ 10:41am
yes i did. player.moveto 06005216. hearthfires is the 6th to load. but it just didnt work
gnewna Apr 22, 2015 @ 10:58am
Hmm, I'm not sure why Hearthfires would be at 6 - could you post your full load order, please? It should be at 5, or lower, but there shouldn't be anything else before it, AFAIK. Did you check in-game that 06 is definitely the right number?
