As far as I know you can't disenchant things without destroying them, I'm not aware of any mod that lets you. Best you could hope for, I think, would be a mod that gives you an extra item with the same enchants on it, which *can* be destroyed and the enchantments put on other items (this is another issue - some things you disenchant them and then you can't actually enchant anything with that enchantment.) but I don't know if such a mod exists.

Like, e.g. make a sword that looks like Dawnbreaker, same stats, but no magic powers? I don't think so, can't imagine many people want them without the enchantments, that's sort of the main point of them.

yes because i have the awesome looking ruefull axe. but the enchantment sucks.

Hmm. I know in Requiem my 'Axe of Whiterun' is an enchantment-free (IIRC) axe using the Rueful model, but that's probably a bit extreme for one axe. There's this on the Nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63870/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D63870%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D2684814&pUp=1 but it only has two endorsements which... isn't encouraging. Still, it's a pretty simple mod, probably not too far wrong they could have gone. Back up your saves before installing though, just in case it sends things kerflooey.

(It also doesn't specify whether it needs to be installed before you get the Rueful Axe.)

Very easy to make the items yourself in a plugin (simply rename the object ID then remove the enchantment) this makes a clone without enchants and without interfering with the original item.

Making it possible to smith the item is slightly more complex but still very easy, can't remember the exact process but I'm sure the Creation Kit wiki has all the info you need if you want to try.

@ gnewma: I did exactly that in Morrowind lol, never been interested in doing it in Skyrim as the enchants are much more useful. Morrowind (vanilla at least) was sorely lacking in useful base items to enchant and some of the artifact enchantments were a bit dull

Nope, you won't get a more powerful enchantment by disenchanting daedric artifacts so find the cheapest lowest value item with the same enchantment and disenchant that instead

Thanks gnewna !

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8157/? disenchant artifacts.

You can use coc qasmoke to get all the artifacts out of containers there and disnechant them, and then find the artifacts normally if you wish.

Or there's this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53610/? a barrel in dragonsreach containing all daedric artifacts.

As for crafting, there's this that lets you craft unenchanted versions of most enchanted items, such as artifacts, thalmor robes, thieve's guild stuff, dark brotherhood stuff, etc as long as you meet requirements which are listed on the mod page: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/799/?

They don't want to learn the enchantment and put it on other thing, they want a plain weapon with the relevant model, presumably so they can either put a different enchantment on it, or maybe use it unenchanted with Elemental Fury or whatever.

The last mod looks promising but it sounds as though it just lets you make a clone of the Daedric artefacts, i.e. still with the enchantment.

Speckled Jim's suggestion is probably best (assuming one doesn't want to use Requiem - which is fantastic but not for everyone - just to get a cool axe.)

I didn't look through all the images on that last one, only saw the unenchanted guild master armor and assumed artifacts would work like that as well. There is one mod on the workshop however that I used in the past (idk if it's still there) called Uncraftable. I know it does what the OP is after though. I used it to make unenchanted nightingale bows for an old assassin of mine.

Here's link to it on nexus as well. Requires DB+DG dlc though, in case you don't have them. Workshop has a non dlc version as well though. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57127/?

Yeah, my guess (entirely unscientific) is that the mod has gone by what's available in the game (albeit through console commands) already. I.e. I believe there already exists a 'plain' version of all the TG armours, so it's relatively easy to make one available through smithing, whereas there's no 'plain' Volendruung, or whatnot.
