Dwemer metals... glitch, bug, or not?
I've been farming Dwemer metal ingots to level up my smithing as fast as I can and I do not want to do the Adrianne-glitch. Now, I found out that Nchuand-zel and any map beyond it contains lots of dwemer metal for looting and smelting.

Now, right after I looted the area and left for a few days I came back to it for a quest and I noticed that everything that I looted were reset and everything's back in its place as if I didn't even looted it. My question is, was it intentional that the dwemer metals are to be reset after a few days?

Here is the list of the locations in which I looted and after a few days, everything was back as if I didn't even touch it:
  • Calcelmo's little laboratory inside Understone Keep (dwemer metal lying around)
  • Nchuand-zel Excavation Site
  • Nchuand-zel Quarters
And here are some FYI:
  • I didn't clear the area yet
  • I am currently on a quest on finding some journals inside Nchuand-zel
  • I already helped Calcelmo on slaying Nimhe

Made some edits:

  • Title
  • Minor typographical errors
  • Changed the word "reproduced" to "rest"

Looks like it's got a respawn time of '10 or 30' days, at the bottom of the page it says that if you complete nearly all of the place apart from the last step of the quest then after 60 days it'll respawn so... sort of semi-normal, but a bit quick?

Thanks for the link. I just finished the quest now and I tried sneaking so I haven't cleared any of the areas. Should I still wait for 60 days? Or the usual 10 or 30?

I find it easier to collect iron ore, plentiful around Skyrim and then transmute it to gold ore to make jewellry.

Thanks for this. If you can suggest some, what jewelry, without the precious stones, should I make to level up smithing fast? Gold ring? Amulet? Circlet?

Jewellery without precious stones is all fairly low-value, I'd make as much as you can with stones (should get plenty from mining - make sure to transmute some of your iron to silver and drop it (so it doesn't get turned to gold) and turn some to gold, so you can make use of flawless and ordinary gems.

Gold necklaces or rings is the fastest. It will increase faster if you make them with precious stones but they are hard to come by. I would just make gold necklaces per 1 gold ingot and smithing skill rises pretty fast. Also use the Warrior Stone in Riverwood to boost the speed by 20%.

And don't forget to get some sleep before hand to also improve your learning.
