Trouble in Skyrim bug
There's this bug wherein when you return to Whiterun to return to Farkas, the quest is already in your completed quests list. I read in the wiki that you can use the 'setstage cr05 100' console command and so I did. Keep in mind though that before doing it, I tried to reload any previous saves though they didn't fix the problem which left me to use the console command. Now, after using the command, I was able to proceed with the rest of the Companions main quests with no other problems though the 'return to Farkas' option in "Trouble in Skyrim" quest in my quests log under the completed quests list is still "incomplete". I am almost done with the main Companions quest line FYI.

My question is, how would that "incomplete" part affect my future with the companions? I mean, will I face any other problems in the near future? Problems with like, their radiant quests? Will I somehow face a problem like, they won't recognize me as their harbinger or something? Or in worst case scenario, will the game bug out and crash on me?

Here's from the wiki that I've read:

  • The quest is greyed out in the journal (completed) when you've returned to Farkas.
    • The quest is switched to "completed" at a point outside of Whiterun as you return (tested from Redoran's Retreat only).
    • Use the console command setstage cr05 100. You will receive a reward and be able to ask for more work.

Should not be a problem, if Farkas has moved from his waiting post. At least I have never heard anyone claiming such.

Edit: Typo...
Edit 2: And another one.

Thanks for the answer! It's a relief knowing that there's no problem. I was afraid it would affect the companions or even the game heavily. Thanks again!
