Corundum Ore

I have a really hard time finding this ore to make steel and to make locks for my home. I find tons and tons of iron but so far have only ever found 1 vein of Corundum. Is there a trick to finding it or maybe a mod that will allow me to convert iron ore into corundum ore?

Theres loads of it around in random veins if you look around. Darkwater Crossing has Golden Rock Mine which is a dedicated corundum mine. Plenty in there.

There are a few spots in the main questline, like when you exit Bleak Falls Barrow turn right where the skulls are I think about 3 veins, same as when you retreive the horn, there is a few. Check the Wild's of the Pale Hold I've found a few there

Check with Blacksmiths. They may have steel and/or corundum ingots for sale.

I just buy it. It's not hard to make money if you transmute iron to gold, then make jewelry, then enchant it, then sell it.

There is a vien of corundun and Iron near each of the three Heartfire building sites, you have to search the area. I think it is a load of crap that the viens give up three pieces of ore then they're empty (even if the vien respawns). I use a mod called "Infiniviens". It's a cheat but the choice is yours.

Once you have played the game for a while it becomes easier to spot the ore veins. For those just starting the game a mod that will make it easier.

You could just add as much corundum as you want with the console. I don't know if you consider this cheating/immersion breaking but it's an option.

u can use skyrim wiki, as there are all ore veins listet. you also can buy corundum/steel by any blacksmith. If you are one to search for them, i would suggest the "Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim" mod, as it includes an pretty good "search ore" spell (and lots of other spells)
