Male followers?

why is it so hard to find a male follower that isn't a spell caster? I have had some mages and the like but they 100% of the time kill me instead of the enemy cause people give mages spells that o;linger and then become hostile to the player.. so I am thinking I need a mellee or ranger follower

I use Vilkas and Farkas from the companions. They only really use regular weapons.

If you did the companions line, any one of those males will be a follower, or in riverwood, who every you choose to side with , the bard or the archer also possible followers o.O

You can join them without becoming one, and either way there is a cure.

Stenvar[elderscrolls.wikia.com] is a mercenary in the inn in Windhelm. Kharjo[elderscrolls.wikia.com] can be grabbed from one of the Khajiit caravans. There are a couple of male Housecarls and male Orcs in Strongholds that you can grab too, among other miscellaneous followers.

Besides Vilkas and Farkas, there are at least 3 more male melee followers that I can think of, and then several more who would join you as mercenary followers.

A bazillion male non-mage male followers. Athis, Farkas, Torvar, Vilkas, Cicero, Erik, Stenvar, Vorstag, Argis, Caldor, Ghorbash, Ogol, Ahtar, Benor, Cosnach, Derkeethus, Faendal, Kharjo, Roggi, and Sven. Did I miss any? And several more in the DLCs.

There's the two from the love triangle in Riverwood. I rarely use followers so those are the only ones I can think of.

Are any of the house carls male? I've only ever had the ones for Riften and Whiterun, but they're both female.

Off the top of my head, the one in Markath and the one in Windhelm are, plus the one in Morthal and the one in Dawnstar if you have Heartfire.

I will look into it or maybe make my own follower.. though I can't do anything talented like voice acting .. well I being a female i don't think i can make my voice sound like a guy though I tried once and boy that hurt my throat and failed miserably for holloween ..Plus I read I really need good sound and then there is the matter of making the quests which all seems like something i would break rather than do anything good with XD
