Problem trying to install mods using MO (Solved)
I've decided to swap from NMM to Mod Organizer, and made my game vanilla again using STEP. Everthing seems to be fine, followed the tutorial by Gopher on installing MO and seems to be fine. However, i've run into a problem I hope someone can help with as I seem to be unable to download any mods from Nexus.

In Nexus I click the download with Manager button but instead of doing what its supposed to do it comes up with Page Cannot Be Displayed. - Issue: •Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed. The url bar says: nxm://Skyrim/mods/19/files/1000121581

This was for the unofficial Skyrim patch, I have tried other mods and the same thing. I have retyped my username and password in MO and made sure to click the "Associate with manager" button. Any help with this would be greatly appriciated

edit - apparently you have to go into the Mod Organizer folder, click on nxmhandler.exe and click register.

For me ... I had the issue of my browser needed to associate .nxm files with Mod organizer rather than NMM and once I'd done that ... it worked well.
It may be your browser.
You can also manual download the programs you want and activate through MO

Personally, I don't download with manager. I download manually to my Downloads folder. Then use the Mod Organizer install a new mod button on the toolbar, browse to the Downloads folder and install it from there.

But it should be working though. I tried Firefox and this is what it said so not to do with browser -

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (nxm) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Go into MO tools\nexus, tick box for automatic log-in to nexus then add nexus user name and password. When downloading mods from nexus, a window box will show directing to MO just click OK(permission)and it will download to MO.

Did all that but it was still having problems. I read through the comments on Gophers youtube video when he was installing mods and someone posted a solution. You have to go into your Mod Organizer folder, click on nxmhandler.exe and you click the register button. Nexus then is able to verify and connect when i try to download mods.

It may have occured because I previously used NMM and Nexus needed to be told I was using MO. I dunno, computers eh... do my head in sometimes.

Same.
They are just zip files.
