Quest stuck itself (promise to keep)

You know the quest "promise to keep", the one where you have to steal the horse "frost"? well, I talked with maven and she told me some stuff and now the quest isn't continuing and frost isn't there to be stolen, are there cheats to reset the quest, or did I something wrong?

Did you try talking to Louis Letrush again to see if you missed something? Did you talk to Sibbi Black-Briar in the Riften Jail?

I first talked with louis, than with sibbi, than with maven to be an double ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and that I couldn't continue the quest, because the mark for getting the papers for frost are already done

There is no way to reset the quest. You can only reload a previous save and complete it again to see if the problem remains.

Your only other alternative at this point is to use console to advance the quest. Enter these commands into console until you get a quest update.

setstage ms03 5
setstage ms03 10
setstage ms03 20
setstage ms03 25
setstage ms03 30

that only helps with the journal itself, the game will still believe the quest is locked midway and so will the characters

And besides, there are easier ways to do the quest, then to steel, as I remember. You could persuade them as I recall

But I failed the mission, first there were sabre cats attacking me, and than a lot of vamps that killed the stupid horse^^
Well, at least it's over now XD

Did you go into Maven's house outside town? Can't remember the name, but it's full of mercenaries.

i failed the mission but yet seems like he still wants frost even tho hes ded xD
