Shadow, Frost, or Arvak?
So I recently got Frost and just got Arvak. Now I'm tied between all 3 of these horses. At first I thought "Oh Shadowmere's awesome with red eyes and he's black and all that" but the truth is he's a very dark brown. Not too hard to notice. He was modded for better looks and speed, and Frost got the same. Frost is actually white, with a fancy purple saddle, bridle, and reins (Don't know if that's in vanilla). As much as I like Frost, I sort of want a black horse... Then there's Arvak. Arvak looks perfect. I modded Arvak to be faster. I don't know if a mod will fix this, but the annoying parts are 1. When Arvak is dismounted, he dies 2. He has barely any health. So maybe Arvak... if I could fix that.
The point of this is to ask which horse I should use. Frost's & Shadow's issues are color and they can't be summoned, then Arvak's is dying all the time.
And yes, I have the Whistle mod, but it doesn't work the way I need it to, it's kinda hard to explain.

Thats most definitely not vanilla frost[img3.wikia.nocookie.net]. XD
Shadowmere is also the most offensive and strongest horse and will respawn if he dies, so feel that in mind.

Alright, well I guess I'll be using Shadow, or least for now. :P The mods I used for Shadow & Frost actually make it so they can't die, so dying doesn't matter with me. XD

Arvak dies when the 60 seconds time limit is over. He will never die so long as you're mounting him though. The main reason why he dies is the summoning limit, but since you can summon him at will with virtually no cost makes him effectively the best.
Also, unless you use a mod to change this, he's the only horse that can carry you while in the Soul Cairn... or Blackreach. ^^

Arvak is no better than a stables horse. It has low stamina and is pretty weak.

Frost is far better than Arvak and Shadowmere is the best.

That is unless you have convenient horses, then it doesn't matter much, although I am not sure Arvak is affected by it because he is a summon.

I've used all of those horses, Frost, Shadowmere and Arvak. Like you not overly impressed.

Shadowmere in skyrim is only a shadow of what she was in Oblivion... there she was a beast that you could ride!

Frost is okay a better choice than shadowmere more aggressive in my game.

The horse I prefer above them all ... personally and probably the first one you could buy .. well at Whiterun stables!

Queen Allie .... a Black charger ... much blacker than Shadowmere ... much more aggressive than either shadowmere or Frost! Probably doen't have as much health as the others but has heart speed and aggression suits me!

If you use the Convenient Horses mod, any horse can be 'summoned' (well, you blow a horn/whistle and it appears next to you, a bit of a cheat, perhaps, but horses are so useless in vanilla that I find it excusable...) It also lets followers ride (certain modded followers such as Inigo have their own system for horse ownership) lets you make your horse essential or have better health if not, gives horses an inventory, etc.

Neither of the three, Karinda is better.

neither of the 3 standard horse and convenient horses. I mean with that mod you can make horses fast, invulnerable, summon them and what not so I really don't see any use of 1 of those 3.

Actually, now I have this awesome mod, the Wobums mod. Adds in this one horse that can has an inventory, has different armor, hides, and saddles, can be easily called, follows and all that.
