Isran shut the gates in my face...
I am returning to Fort Dawnguard after recruiting Gunmar and Sorine. But as soon as I enter the round main hall the gates shoot up from the ground and prevent me from going further. I am, of course, supposed to talk to Isran, and I can see him standig above me on the "balcony".

I have tried waiting (17 hrs), reloading and fast traveling. But to no avail. I've also tried using 'tcl' to get up to him and talk. But when I get there he is busy and won't talk.

What else might I do?

Help and suggestions gratefully accepted.

Thanks for replying.

No, I was not a vampire. I didn't even have the Sanguinaris : ) However, it sort fixed itself as I travelled (not Fast Travel) away and later returned.

Now, however, a new problem has presented itself at the next stage: The Moth Priest, Dexion, is hostile by default and can only be talked to when severely beaten. I vaguely remember this happening before, from an early playthrough, but I can't remember how it had to be fixed...

The Unofficial Patches fix a lot of those types of bugs before they have a chance to affect your game. They're highly recommended.

T-Shirts are communal forms of education!
But communal education is in the form of a t-shirt! And the link remains improperly used.

This small exhange of words may actually have some kind of historical importance...

Maybe, but the link is still broken, and with it any intended witticism.

Dixon has to be beat to the ground when you meet him for the first time. Then you have to have not fed for several days until you have gained the make thrall ability. It is advisable to do this before entering the cave to find him. While he is still kneeling use the ability and everything will procede.

The OP is not a vampire.

Also they aren't at that point in the questline yet.

From his earlier post it sounds like he has already rescue Dixion, but he is now hostile. Maybe I got it wrong.
Edit: you are correct. My bad!

Oops, no, I somehow completely missed the post about Dexion, sorry! *facepalm* I have a bad headache today, can't see straight ;) But yes, OP isn't a vampire so the thrall thing isn't what he needs to do. From what I remember you do have to knock Dexion down so he does that crawling around bleedout animation thing, is that not working, OP? He's been enthralled, hence the hostility, but when he's crawling around he comes to his senses.

This has happened to me on several occassions. You beat him down but he will not become friendly. I usually had to repeat the rescue several times to get him to revert. Which is kind of strange since my first three playthroughs went perfectly, no glitch.
