anyone got some scary mods to enhance the game and make it more eerie, ominous and dark? throw them in this thread please.
im looking for all kinds of mods such as those that will make enemies more terrifying, dungeons more atmospheric and scary, whatever. i want to be haunted in the open world as well (heard there's some mod where nazgul chase you around though it's not here on the worskhop). anyway, i want it all to result in skyrim becoming a horror and dark fantasy experience. i want dungeons to be scary and threatening. etc
if you have any mods in suggestion then definitely mention them here, i will be especially glad if you provide links. thanks in advance.

suggest any mod that you think fits

ps. im looking for a mod that would equalize the hp of enemies on higher difficulties to that of adept and only increase their damage slightly or double it two, three times. basically adept difficulty with increased damage received.

the list of mods im getting for a darker, creepier skyrim as of now.

So far haven't found any that truly change its entire atmosphere..
However, there are mods that make enemies more deadly, with new abilities (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40491/) and mods that make dungeons way darker (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17802/?).
There are also plenty of mods that add quests with jumpscares and scary elements, though I bet that is not what you are looking for.

To make draugr scary:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58359/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22836/?

If you can use an ENB:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60935/?

It makes dungeons darker:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27043/?

UPDATE:
I don't know if it really adds to the horror-atmosphere, but you could use 'Deadly mutilation'
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34917/?

More creatures, possibly more scary:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35631/?

I might look later for more.

the mods that make enemies deadly, do they also make them tougher to my damage? i used to play on the master difficulty, but ultimately switched to adept because i think the damage output as a warrior is most realistic there, imo.
a problem that i could face with darker dungeons is being unable to notice certain puzzle elements, no?
and yea im not looking for jumpscares and i tend to avoid custom questlines because most of them seem unappealing to the lore, then again if there are some really good ones then they should be linked here.

Hello. Sorry for posting off topic but I'd really appreciate it if someone told me how to turn off the Xbox 360 controller and switch it to the Mouse + Keyboard settings. I can't go to the controls options using my keyboard and mouse, so I don't know what to do. Also, I don't have any controllers enabled.

Again, sorry for the off-topic question. It's been like this for months now.

Enemy AI Overhaul makes enemies smarter and gives them some new powers. But the damage input-output is the same.
Though I haven't searched, I'm pretty sure on Nexus must be a mod that makes the damage dealt on higher difficulty the same as on Adept, while receiving double, triple damage and so on..
Torches and Magelight are your only friends if using Climates of Tamriel with Hardcore Dungeons Lighting, so if you think you don't like it, then skip it.
As for the quests, yes, mostly are poor, 2-3 jumpscares at the end and that's all, though here is a quest (40% horror imo) that I enjoyed a lot, had a really creepy atmosphere and doesn't have jumpscares: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23087/?

This adds more sounds to the dungeons, making it mostly scarier:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8601/?

And possibly this too, it overhauls all the default music. Not sure if it's really scarier though.

Here, have some more scary sound overhauls:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38677/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46515/?

Also, this mutes the music, leaving only the ambient sounds. Combined with scarier sounds this will sound very creepy.

If you are starting a new game, have Dawnguard, Dragonborn, SKSE and SkyUI, then for across the board world spawns you may like this to keep the adrenalin raised:

Ultimate Deadly Encounters - The Way of the Dovahkiin aka Sanda of Time

im going to check it out. does it not work with games that already been started? do you have any idea if it could conflict with mods in my list, my guesses being monster mod and enemy ai overhaul?
shadvox Mar 7, 2015 @ 10:06am
Hi,
Do not know about the conflicts, you'll have to read and compare your list.

There's a whole website devoted to the mod and a vid review by Brodual:
http://sotrealms.enjin.com/home

As for a new game, it just says it is recomended. Maybe ask in their Nexus forum?
Cheers :)
