Skyrim keeps crashing whenever I enter Kolskeggr Mine.
Skyrim crashes to the desktop with no error messages whenever I try to enter Koskeggr Mine. I tried entering other locations, and they all load up normally. It's only Kolskeggr Mine as far as I know. I have tried to:

  • Verify Integrity of Game Cache
  • Disable all my mods
  • Delete some old saves

None of this has worked. Have any of you experienced a similar issue?

Where is that "deleting some old saves to prevent crashes while playing current one" coming from? There is no bases for that, but the rumor seems to be running wile around forums and causing bunch of misunderstandings. I would really like to know where it originated.

There might be several reasons for your crashing. Let's count possible case of broken master files out. I know that you already verified the integrity of game cahce, but do it again by following these instructions:

- Exit Steam.
- Go to Steam folder and remove folder named appcache

- Go to Documents > My Games > Skyirm and remove files Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini.
Warning: Do not delete these 2 files, before Skyrim has succesfully created new ones. Just move them outside of the folder, for now.

- Close your computer. Let it actually shut down before starting it again (clearing memory).
- Start Steam. It will now load few seconds and create the new appcache folder for you.
- Verify Integrity of Game Cache...
