Tried to download TES5Edit. [SOLVED]
Got an error message.

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."

I have no idea what it's talking about. What program could it possibly need? And if I don't have it, then where do I go to get it? And once I get it, how do I install it? And If I already have it, then where is this Default Programs it talks about?

I need this solved because Ogreboss said I need to update my patcher for Requiem. No TES5Edit, no update. No update, I can't use Requiem. I really want Requiem. I'm kind of bored playing the same old Skyrim. I want it to be like new again.

TES5Edit is on Nexus and you download it with the Nexus mod manager or manually depending on your preference.

Did you download a file with a name sthg like TES5Edit_3_0_31_EXPERIMENTAL-25859-3-0-31EXP.7z* ? If so, that's the right thing, it's actually an archive, and you'll need to open it with an extractor like WinRAR or 7zip - I'd recommend 7zip, it works really well, it's completely free (WinRAR can be used without ever paying, but it does periodically try to get you to pay for it) and it's generally advised as the best tool to use to extract .7z files (which a LOT of Skyrim things come in that format).

It's available from http://www.7-zip.org/ Either run 7zip and navigate to wherever you downloaded TES5Edit to (probably your Downloads folder), then double click to open the archive and have a look in it or install 7zip and then find the TES5Edit download in Windows Explorer (if you've got a download showing in your browser, you should be able to select 'show in Explorer') and right click, you should then have an option (on mine it's near the top) that says '7-zip...' if you select that it'll give you the option to 'open with 7zip' or something like that.

Then all you need to do is extract the contents of the archive (I would make a new folder on your Desktop called TES5Edit - this can be done when you're choosing a location to extract to) and when you've done that, open the new folder and run TES5Edit.exe

*May be a bit different as mine was downloaded a few weeks ago, but TES5Edit [blahblahblah] .7z

(Sorry if I'm misinterpreting your post, but it sounds like you're having the message that comes up if you try to open a zipped archive without using an extractor tool.)

Download 7zip and extract archive with that
