I have never experienced any CTDs in Dayspring Canyon. I am not pulling you, even UESPWiki does not mention anything about persistent crashes there.

Are you using Unofficial Patches and sorting your load order with LOOT?
User 5318008 Feb 19, 2015 @ 5:10am
i initially had no unofficial patches but after the CTDs started i enabled unofficial dawnguard and moved it to 2nd, right behind dawnguard. what is LOOT? i have the standard load order through skyrim launcher tool.
i've never been able to play dawnguard. it really irritates me.
Roscaria Feb 19, 2015 @ 5:14am
I just completed that yesterday without incidence. Do you have the Unofficial Dawnguard patch?

Edit: sorry was typing before your post appeared,

LOOT is Load Order Optimization Tool for recent Bethesda games. The order of files is important, because that is how Skyrim launches scripts and overwrites date from them.

LOOT
https://loot.github.io/

The first video is about load order; what it is and how it affects to your game. The second video is about LOOT. You don't need to watch either just to run LOOT - you can find instructions from it's documentation. However, if you plan to mod the game further, then you might wish to watch them both, when you have the time.

installed loot, sorted plugins, said i had 2 dirty ones and 2 warnings (what do i do about that?) ... and still CTD
Ilja Feb 19, 2015 @ 5:30am
Don't do anything about dirty files now. Most mods should not be cleaned, because modern modders are more aware of the problem that plagued older files. Many new mods actually need to "dirty" edits, but LOOT still warns about them.

I don't know what is going on there. Could you post us your load order? If you are using NMM, then you can import/export it directly from white icons next to Plugins view.

If not, then you may copy the LOOT report about your order and paste it here.

This is your load order because it should go like;

Skyrim
Unofficial Skyrim patch
Dawnguard
Unofficial Dawnguard patch

This load order is not sorted by LOOT.

Also, you will have to have the main Unofficial Skyrim Patch active, as master file for other patches in the series.

Otherwise I am not spotting any known conflicts there. However, I do not recognize all of these mods, so hopefully others will check this as well.

Run the LOOT again. See instructions from documentation. If sorting your load order does not fix this, then it might be a memory bug. There are things we can try to fix them.

You might also want to uninstall the mods that you have inactive though.
Depending on the mod and its loose files, just having the esp deactivated doesnt nessisarily remove it from the game if it has loose files, so you might have problems caused from conflicts because of that, although I dont see any mods that really should be causing the problem that you are having.

ok, enabled skyrim patch, ran loot again (it changed something) and then launched from NMM. two things different this time, two objectives popped up to obtain marks of dibella... and then CTD at the same location
User 5318008 Feb 19, 2015 @ 5:53am
one other thing, LOOT, NMM and the skyrim launcher are all telling me different load orders. i have NFI what's going on.
Nazenn Feb 19, 2015 @ 5:56am
Data Files should be ignored. Its incredibly unreliable and will reorganise your load order based on outdated information. Ideally, never open it once you start adding mods.
NMM also has a buggy load order display at times. I believe that gets fixed if you close NMM, run LOOT and then reopen NMM and it should display the proper one
LOOT is the one that should be set and abided by
User 5318008 Feb 19, 2015 @ 6:08am
okie dokie... done all that and its still CTD. what to do...

ps thanks for all your help guys. very much appreciated!
