The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

[Solved]How do I play as a specific race without changing into them?
I play as a nord that looks like a dark elf (with help of mods) but,
because the race is nord I get the nord dialogues and that's fine.
I just wanted to know if there's any console command (like set/add
to faction or something else) to get them to recognize you as an elf?

Thanks gnewa for the help.

No, I mean my character is a nord (with only elf ears) but because it's still a nord you get the nord dialogue from npc's. I don't want to waste more time making a dark elf character that looks the same and it's really hard to modify the elf's/dark elf's face in-game.
I think you'll always get some race-specific dialogue (like, afaik even mods that add a new race entirely can't get rid of it, so they have to pick which race people think you are). I'm a little unsure whether you're wanting to have the Nord racials (the power which I can't remember of the name of, Nord skill bonuses etc) or just to look more human-ish? It might be worth playing with RaceMenu (the mod) because you can save presets from a character who's one race and then apply them to a new character of another race so they look sort of a mix of the two. Variable results, but might be worth a try. It's a good mod generally, gives you a lot more control over your character's looks.

I gave the RaceMenu a try but it just does the same as ECE.
Just copies and pastes the preset but does not change the face.

(Yeah I want it to look more human-ish.)
Sorry, it's difficult to be sure if we're driving at the same thing. I saved this preset:

Directly imposed onto a Dunmer http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=390326740

Tweaked slightly

I'm not quite sure if you want a Dunmer (in terms of stats, dialogue etc) who will look completely Nord (like, with the first face) or whether you want a Dunmer with Nord skintones, eyes etc. Maybe a combination of RaceMenu (to save a preset with the right skintone, and to allow a lot of fiddling, for example you can use sliders to ) and Ethereal Elven Overhaul (which tends to make elves look a lot more human, although not completely) plus maybe a mod that lets elves have human eyes?

This is the last pic, saved as a new preset, and then applied with Ethereal Elven Overhaul installed, plus Total Character Makeover (which alters the skin and various other things, similar to XCE but a little bit prettier - makes my own character a bit too pouty for my tastes, I like my elves hard-looking):

Anything like what you're after?

You might want to look into how custom races are recognized by npcs. Defining how they are addressed could help in understanding how to change how npcs greet you.
The last pic seems to be it.
I am not sure if it works the same in Skyrim as it did in Oblivion, but all you should have to do is type showracemenu in console, save your character preset in the character creation menu, change your race to whichever race you want and load the preset, then save the game using console without exiting the showracemenu. Then load the save to prevent your stats from being destroyed.

If you are a Nord you will get treated as a Nord. I'm not sure why you have a mod that makes you Nord look like a Dunmer, but since it's a MOD the core game engine is still going to see you as the race you chose.

Do you just want your fellow Nords to comment on your ears, so you can tell them it was due to an accident with a mechanical rice picker? Is your appearance the result of a curse? Is it the result of mixed heritage? Did you just want to be a Dunmer but with Nord racial abilities? I'm rather confused as to what you want. But in the end, you are still a Nord and so you will be treated as a Nord.

In that case, I'd recommend EEO (it also changes most of the elf NPCs in the base game and there are patches for the DLC and a few other mods available if you google them) plus an eye pack with more human eyes for elves. The last one I literally made no specific changes when I loaded the preset, meaning her chin's a bit short because applying it to the vanilla Dunmer made the chin really long and pointy. I'm sure with a bit of time spent tweaking and playing with different sliders you could get something you're happy with :)
go into racemenu, make your nord, save him
change race to Dark Elf, load your nord profile.
Boom. Look like a Nord, treated as Dark Elf
Brandybuck, I just wanted my character to be a dark elf with more human-ish appearance so I used nord and with the help of ECE (mod) I got the elf ears and also because vanilla dark elf and other elves seem to have a very pointy chin or looks really weird. I thought some console command might change/modify it. Anyway, it's solved and thank you guys and sorry if it's a bit confusing.
hi. i know, new guy-old hash, but what you gonna do huh?
anyway i need to change my race without changing ''skin'' this stuff you all listed just makes my guy look like a fit elephant man. is there any way just to change a value in the save from nord to darkelf or something? because there NEEDS to be a way to do that. im tired of tinkering with this and i need help!:steambored:
