level 35 - what happened to dawnguard?

i'm lelv 35 and i can't do the dawn guard anymore - the guards used to say dawn guard, but now they dont. i went to the map area showing the dawnguard, but no one is there. what do i do?
i want to play the dawnguard but i dont want to to restart a new character.

Perhaps you disabled the DLC at some point to prevent the random vampire attacks? It's toggled like any other mod.

When you say you "went to the map area", do you mean you can actually see the fort, but it's unpopulated?

Or do you mean you can't find the place? Note that you need to go through Dayspring Canyon to get to it.

there is no fort. all dlc is checked on

ya, it i think after a certain level it becomes unactive. should i turn on and turn off the mods and restart to see if that works?

Yes, you should start turning off things like Official/unofficial patches to the vanilla game and/or dlc. it doesnt become unactive because i did the dlc when i was lvl 53. its probably one of your mods. Worst case senario is that your game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but i think its one of your mods :/

ok, i will check it. good to hear you did dawn guard at level 53. so that means its something else.

ok two problems
1) map lower extreme bottom right - says speak to leader of dawnguard - i go there - no one.
2) fort dawnguard shows up - but when i head in that direction - i get as far as a open building thats really just an arch and a roof - but it says can't proceed - and its like an invisible wall.
my guess is i missed something that would allow me to pass that direction.

so where would the speaker be to speak to the leader of the dawn guard.
there is a monk tower right next to it.

so it means the dawnguard mod is running - if it shows things like the castle but why would it not work? again the guards used to say dawnguard this and that, and now they dont.

Again: You need to go through Dayspring Canyon. You cannot simply walk to Fort Dawnguard without going through that cave. If you hit that little arch, then you're on the right path, but you've gone too far along it.

So im guessing you were already confronted by the dawnguard recruiters and you accepted. Therefor you got a quest to see the leader of the dawnguard..And suddenly you can see only a sliver of the castle and you cant enter because of the "invisable wall". thats quite odd. I noticed you said "Dawnguard mod" but i assume you ment the actual DLC. Hopefully you purchased the DLC legit rather than going somewhere else and purchasing it or hacking it. honestly its probably a DLC breaking glitch that probably hasnt been seen before. if its possible could you go back before you got the quest and attempt to restart?

i bought the skyrim anthology, all legit.

He says there is a cave, i've not seen any caves, so i'll go look for that.
i think i met dawnguard recruiters and accepted, hence the meet the leader icon on the map.
its just south of the dawnguard fort.
however when i go there - nothing - no one is there to talk to?

He's right. there is a cave like enterance you need to go through to get to the Dawnguard fort. Ill admit its a little wierd to get to but its SouthEast of riften. Once you go through it, should be all snowy and a guy wil try to kill you. but dont worry its ok to kill him lol. But yes, there is a cave-like enterance just like any other cave you would enter. If its possible i could attach some screen shots of what it looks like and where it is if you'd like.

alright - the cave was the anwser - now i'm at dawnguard ---- thanks guys for your help. it was a bit misleading, but i got there. I really appreciate the quick support here. thanks!!

on an aside - do you guys know how to make a house? i see materials for it, but nothing has come up to actually building them - i have two houses so far breeze home and the one in white haven, but not a custom built - how do you start that?
