Breezehome mods - anything I should know?
So, I'm thinking of getting a breezehome mod, there seem to be two main choices (I know there are LOTS more, but of the ones I've seen) namely Breezehome Fully Upgradeable (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11158/?) and Breezehome TNF - Elianora's Flavour (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49347/?)

First off, does anyone know if these are likely to run on my fairly low-spec PC? I'm playing on Low graphics, more or less, and am having a few issues with CTDs and graphics glitches (walk into a building and the floor/walls/ceiling are missing, occasional invisible faces, etc). I'd really like a cosier Breezehome, but not if it's going to make my game unplayable. (Neither seems to have any obvious warnings, but I know I saw a really nice modded house in Solitude that actually included minimum specs which I don't think my PC met).

Secondly, has anyone who's played with one or both got any preference between the two? I'm leaning towards BFU, but would love to hear feedback from you guys.

Thirdly, BFU has fairly long installation instructions, but I *think* most of the steps only apply if you've already been using Breezehome (i.e. have items to retrieve from chests etc) so if I'm using it on a character who's only just about to buy the house, I shouldn't need to worry so much? Or should I follow the instructions anyway? I'm also a bit concerned about the instruction to quicksave and quickload to get the upgrade merchant NPC's dialogue to work, given I steer well clear of quicksaves as I know they can cause weird issues (have had this in the past, more so in Oblivion I think, but still...)

Dunno how my laptop compares with your pc, it's from 2011, but both mods that you mentioned worked fine on it with minimal issues. Both were good. I liked that BFU made you work for some of the stuff and that it had provisions for vampies. Elianora's stuff is well Elianora's stuff, always well made, a bit on the "red" side if you get my meaning. She really likes curtains. Might suit certain builds better. Usually my builds aren't really the "curtain" type. Both work well and are good with followers.

This is my go to Breezehome mod, again, depends. It is now Hearthfire compatible, I think. And he includes some nice patches if you're using some specific mods. You may be familiar with his Breezehome estate.

It's a bit more rustic in design and the modder is a big fan of not being perfect with his placement. Looks like a real home to me. Followers may get stuck a bit. So maybe not your best option since you tend to travel with a gang. LOL

Ooh, nice, but yeah, I suspect sticky followers might bug me too much!

Breezehome Fully upgradable was my favourite for a long time! At the time I would have given it a 200% rating the automatic smithing is brilliant the herb garden, a rather quaint but tiny spa; the extra assess from outside whiterun!

But then I made the mistake of upgrading incorrectly The errors took me days to fix as NMM reported the mod was active but it didn't exist in the data files. Even totally deleting everything and reloading the mod to uninstall it correctly didn't clean up the mess. Now all that was my doing... and Breezehome is the most modded building in the whole game.

So if you want to use Breezehome fully upgradeable with the Beautiful Whiterun modified extra enhancements Do that and don't upgrade unless you do it very carefully.

Oh no! So frustrating when something like that happens, and thank you for the advice warning!

So many Breezehome options! One thing I did was to load up a few and check it out with an older save game (since there is the idea that loading and unloading mods can never be good for a save game file). Once I was happy with the one I wanted, I loaded my main save file and kept that Breezehome version active.

One of the things I have realized is that I really didn't need a blacksmith area inside Breezehome itself. It really is covenient enough to be next door to one.

Also being out there gives some interesting things that happen once in a while, such as crafting and some vampires begin attacking. Imagine being overloaded and trying to chase down a vampire!

Well I have all 2 atm TNF and fully upgradable now I'm playing with TNF ... nice however I find it cramped. The big downside to Fully upgradable I find the pricey upgrades.

Yeah, that could be interesting in Requiem. Still, it's something to work for, better than having a fancypants place all at once, I guess.

Could you help me man, I had the no dlc version and then I finally installed the dlc, I later found out the Hearthfire make the game CTD because it changes the navmesh/map. So I uninstalled it and now there are holes in the home and setting Hearthfire to load CTDs the game. On the mod page it said to buy the living room furnishing after uninstalling, but I can't do that because I had already bought that. If you could help that would be awesome.

You will have more luck creating your own thread with a relevant title than raising this one from the dead, however, the best I can suggest is to reload a save when you hadn't uninstalled anything, leave everything installed that that save depended on, and not uninstall mods and especially DLC and expect to be able to keep playing the same saves.
