Basically the quest tells u to read the book 'waking dreams' inside solstheim (not in skyrim).
If the quest wasnt triggered by Mora's murder, perhaps u can trigger it yourself by just reading the book.
Waking Dreams is the first black book u get in the DLC.
As for conflicting mods, have u tried to disable potential colliding mods with the DLC? Did u run LOOT?
Huh? Mora turns to u right after he kills Storn.
1. It was silly of me not to mention in the first place that yes, Mora did grant me the final word of the shout when he was done with Storn. However, something that might affect this is that I'm using Requiem, which makes it so that when I get a word, I still have to go choose to unlock it in the menu. I did that, and still nothing, but I should go research and play around with that some more. ... In fact, it could be that I need to be sure to unlock the word immediately after Storn dies and before I talk to Frea. I might not have done that in the right order.
2. I went into the "Waking Dreams" world and completed all the way through chapter 6. In chapter 6, I killed a lurker and two seekers, I think, but then nothing happened. I think that after, or maybe instead of, those guys, a dragon is supposed to appear that I can use bend will on. Nothing happened, though, probably because I don't have the right quest. When I finished there, it wouldn't let me leave via the book. It gave me the "couldn't concentrate" message, and I had to step into an acid pool to leave.
3. Thanks to mod organizer, it should be pretty easy to switch back to near-vanilla and try this again. I might give that a try after I try a few more runs like I mentioned above. I'm hesitant to do this, though, because Requiem has its fingers in so many things, I'm not sure how it would react to being pulled out and then reapplied.
Thanks for the thoughts so far. At least I know I'm not crazy, and this isn't how things are supposed to be working.
* I do believe that dying inside Apocrypha only sends u back to the real world, rather than actually dying. Try that if ur stuck there. Also, did u use the word wall inside Apocrypha? Its just before the dragon which comes to u so u could bend its will. The dragon wont show if u wont study that word!
* Killing Miraak is well worth the risk of going vanilla for a few moments. The rewards are one of their kind :D
Mora is, as promised, the most rewarding NPC in the game.
I also received the quest fine when I went back to near-vanilla and did the sequence with Storn again. It's a really stubborn bug in that you can't even start the quest with the console for some reason. I haven't decided what I'll do yet, but I know where the problem is now.
Thanks for all the help!
