NOPE, skyrim has maybe like 1/5th of the quests of morrowind and most of them are super boring "bring item x to npc y" types, also the mainquest is lame, you are treated like a superman from day 1, in morrowind you were "the outlander" and u had to actually earn peoples respect by doing quests/leveling.

Not to mention the pathetic guild quests of skyrim vs morrowinds

Minus the companions, I'd have to say Skyrims guilds and guildquests are superior to morrowinds. In Morrowind, you could walk into a guild and just sign up, where in skyrim you actually get tested first

Atleast morrowinds guilds questline made some sense, you could not be archmage-grandmaster of thieves guild-companion, you had to choose what you wanted to be since there were actual skill requirements needed for advancing in a guild, and the great house questlines were way superior to skyrims copy&paste radiant thane quests, its just my opinion but i find morrowind GOTY way more immersive than skyrim, that game was actually hard, you didnt become a super OP demigod after 5 guild quests..

I don't think it's a stretch to say that Morrowind and Skyrim are two totally different games which share a common lore.

Edit: Your association with Skyrim fills me with shame.

OK, here's my opinion. Morrowind was a superior RPG, Skyrim was better gameplay-wise. In Morrowind, to enchant, you have to go out, kill a great beast, enchant your item. I mean, you can have a sword, interwoven with the soul of a legendary dragon. Tell me in the face that isn't epic. It's like a story all in itself. In Skyrim, you can find soul gems already filled. LAME. OK, so in Morrowind, you aren't an epic beast straight off the bat. You have to earn respect, earn abilities, and you aren't special campared to everyone else. A true RPG, doesn't stick you with a persona straight off, you have to build one. In Skyrim, however, you are basically a demigod. LAME. OK, those are 2 of the many benefits of Morrowind. Now, onto Skyrim. Graphics, enough said. OK, in skyrim, your movement isn't as robotic, and it's smooth and fluent. In Morrowind, everyone looks like they have a 2x4 stuck up their ass when they walk. And when you jump, you basically freeze, but moving through air while frozen. In Skyrim, the magic system is better, AND you can dual wield. Morrowind's magic system still made sense, though, in an RPG sense. You had to level up your magic so it would hit. In Skyrim, you just hit the hit-box, and boom. However, you could use 2 spells at once, which is cool. And dual wielding weapons was cool, too. So, Morrowind is a better RPG, Skyrim is a better fighting game. And Oblivion, let's face it. Oblivion sucked.

And Skyrim has a better modding community. Sorry for the long comment.

morrowind is aimed at hardcore rpg types like people who used to play dungeons and dragons alot while skyrim was aimed at more casual players who just wanted a good rpg title with a sandbox world.

anyone who says otherwise is really just full of s***

id say Skyrim can only win with enough Hardcore mods to make combat actually more than just run up to enemies and mash LMB and even then its still worse as an RPG and if you include mods you have to include morrowind mods too so yeah...

im playing with reqiem and some other mods that make the combat seriously intense and challenging where nearly everything 1shots me and while the combat is now better than vanilla morrowind the quests and alot of other stuff are still far worse.

Like the magic from morrowind kicks the ♥♥♥♥ out skyrims magic because you can completely customise your spells the way you want instead of them being the same and boring, they really should have improved it instead of just dumbing it down by removing it completely.

Irrelevant. Morrowind is ten years older than Skyrim. If Skyrim had been released back then, it would look just as crappy.

That's like saying the Last Airbender movie is better than say, The Longest Day simpley because one is color and the other is black and white.

Skyrim doesn't have Jump and feather fall, so it loses.

Nothing was more fun than jumping 50 feet into the air and floating down while raining fireballs on mobs.

Imagine if you could jump hundreds of feet in the air and backstab a dragon while it was flying... would be so epic.

I know what u mean. But I didn't mention content in that section, I mentioned graphics. Not "what if it was released back then", I'm just talkin bout the here and now. I never even said either one was better. I like both, and I don't like people telling me that either one sucks. Yea, I like the gameplay of Morrowind, and I'm not saying it's bad because of the graphics... just saying I like Skyrim's graphics better.

Combat sucks ass in Morrowind though. Nice game, really bad combat.
