console command problems

whenever i use the help command it just comes up with all-0 functions-2 and so on, i enter it in like this help "elven armor" 0 and still get nothhing different, can someone please explain were i am going wrong

still haveing the same problem

try "help elven 4" or "help elven". The "help" command doesn't take multiple words. So if you were trying to find the ID of a steel ingot, you would say "help steel" or "help ingot" and use the pgup and pgdown buttons to scroll through the results. Hope that helps.

type this letter for letter, sign for sign: Help "elven cuirass" (the " sign is used to make the console search for elven cuirass, and not just elven).


The game does not sort items for you, you cannot search for generalized cocepts like "you know that elven armor stuff". The console is for game development, not a cheat. It can be used as such (i use the console to cheat all the time).

If you know what the game calls an item, then you can use that. I usually search: Help "iron ingot" and get the base 0005ace3 (I think).

the way I get it to work is: help "item name" 4. The "" aren't needed for one word names.
