Report a translation problem
Otherwise, I'd suggest googling the problem as there may well be someone who's posted a solution that you could try. I know there's a common bug with Esbern not speaking, but I haven't heard of him attacking before.
I've googled and nobody has the same problem.
i'll try to start the mission in order to fix it, but if it can not resolve the problem, i'll install this patch.
Tes5Mod:Unofficial Skyrim Patch

2. Leave the area. Abandon the whole hold for 24 (in game) hours and come back. If Esbern haven't cooled off by then, you have something affeting to his AI.
3. If 2 did not work, then try the following.
- Open console
- Target Esbern
- resetAI
If the character continues attacking, or becomes hostile soon again, then something is hitting his AI hard. You might have some bugged out polling effect hitting him and turning him hostile against you. What it might be is hard to say, because effect might not be visible in your list at all.
If command cools Esbern and he stays cool, then you may try to continue the game. However, if the problem did not occur because of one single bug/glitch/event, then it may reappear.

but was getting nowhere so I left and tried again several times and finally gave up and have not really played a lot since as I cant figure out where to go next. Well, I dont really want to make a new character though, I like her. She is one tough mage. I would like to be a vampire mage anyway. but can I really play through the game at all like that? I am a noob as well, but have more hours than 15, cant remember just under 100 or close to that anyway, I really dont pay attantion much but seems like that is what it said. I have managed to make her quite a sage to reckon with with the mods. I will feel bummed if I have to start all over, except maybe I will, I seemed to have pissed off the whole island over there where you go on the boat, and they wanted to arrest me so I killed a bunch of them and some wouldnt die but I managed to subdue them and hope on the boat and make the captain take me away fast but I accidentally left my partner behind there too and was a tough night so I just let her stay there...hehe, I hope she is a live. lol. If not I have to do something nice for another Jarl to get a new one lol. One last question: how can I tell for certain if my character is a vampire or not. She keeps being told she looks sick, looks pale, and her color is paler and her eyes are kind of spooky, kind of yellowish. Or something. But she has not been sick from the daylight yet. But when she sleeps at night she does not wake up with the message that she slept and is rested from her sleep like it used too. OH well, btw, I would love some friends to chat with about the game, I feel there is much here to learn more than what one person can really discover alone unless like you play it over and over for a very long time, which I may, but I still would like some friends in it. I am bedridden 50 year old woman in a nursing home but I play like anyone else would. I love my role playing games, I have characters who are strong and healthy, (well so to speak) and can run and jump and carry loads and such and fight dragons and banish the undead. For me games like this are a life saver from a life of absolute boredom and when I have friends in them it is all the more a blessing. Thanks, Adinah
