Blood on the ice

I'm stuck on the part "Follow up on clues from Hejirm" I'v tried talking to the NPC's which the walkthrough tells me I have to but I can't get any dialog up.
Anyone know of a fix?

Walk from the graveyard to Hejirm while looking to the blood stains on ground. If you looked them closley enough the quest will update telling you to get into the house(picklock or ask for the key from Tolva Shattershield). What you will find in a secret room within will progress the quest onword(no more spoilers, sorry).

Probably the most vague and problematic quest in Skyrim. Thank God for the clever USKP peoples.

Do you have all the clues from Hejirim? There is one specific item in there that you need to continue on the quest. Without it, you're stuck. *SPOILER ALERT* If you do have it, go to Calixto's House of Curiosities. *END SPOILER ALERT*

You also need one of the Butcher fliers. Otherwise you cannot talk to Viola Giordano.

Don't forget to actually pick up the flyers and so on that were sitting in Hejirm. Just "finding" clues won't allow you to "follow up" on them - you've actually got to be able to throw them in people's faces in order to talk about them. Apparently.

That quest is very glitchy without the Unofficial Patches.

I will tell you in detail what to do if you have the patches.

After you see the first murder talk to the witnesses, then talk to Jorleif.

Go back and talk to the guard near the crime scene, then talk to the lady in the Hall of the dead.

Follow the blood trail to Hjerim and examine the door. You can either pick the lock or get the key from Tova Shattershield next door.

Investigate Hjerim and find and aquire 2 journals, an amulet and a pamphlet.

Talk to a guard or Jorleif and ask about the Butcher. They will suggest that someone might buy the amulet. Go talk to that person and sell the amulet.

Talk to Viola Giordano and tell her about the journals. You must have a pamphlet in your inventory.

The quest then directs you to Jorleif. Do not talk to him again until you catch the Butcher or further problems may occur, instead go talk to Wuunferth in the Palace of Kings. He will tell you where to go next.

After he tells you, go to the market area near the Blacksmith immediately and wait for an event. It should happen very quickly. If it doesn't happen quicksave your game and wait one game hour then follow the suspect.

Nice, quest completed, all I had to do was talk to a guard which triggered the next phase.
