'A Daedra's best friend' Can't find Barbas

Hi everyone

In the quest 'A Daedra's best friend' i talked to the guard and the smith and now i have to find Barbas outside Falkreath. But from the beginning he never appears, i searched trough the internet and i found out i had to clear quests including the caves i have to be in this one, so i did.. but it didn't helped, then i traveled forward to Haemar's Shame, and the dog is still there as a statue.. In the console i typed 'getstage DA03' and it showed as 00.00

How am i able to get this quest done.. any suggestions? it's hopeless..

walk west out of Falkreath, at the crossroad turn right and head north about 50 feet or so and you will find Barbas waiting for you. Make sure the quest is activated in your log journal....

Dog is on road, activate the quest in the journal and follow the markers on the map. Also, if the dog is a statue in Haemer's Shame then the quest has completed, the dog turns into the statue at the end--there should only be a man holding a staff as the statue.

Dog talks, you follow. (fast travel entry point to falkreath as said 50 paces along the road)
Haemer's Shame bit of fighting, get new side quest
Follow dog across skyrim
Find cave, get rid of mage collect item return to statue
Decide fate
Quest done.
Maybe go back a save or two and try again maybe you missed something in the dialog(talk).

Thank you all for the comments, but the quest marker is activated and still he doesn't show up..
I've walked the entire road the west of Falkreath but i can't find him. Reloading older saves is not an option for me, the quest has been active for a very long time, too much would be lost.

Only thing i've managed to dig up on the marker being on the road and not Barbas, is that you may have a separate quest in your journal that you haven't completed that involved Rimerock Burrow or Haemar's Shame. Activate all your quests and look at the markers on the map to see if Rimerock Burrow or Haemar's Shame have a marker attached.

Yes i know! I had to retrieve something from both caves, and i cleared both missions in those places.. But that hasn't solved it..

after u clearing this caves where u have quest there use console to restart quest, open console and type "ResetQuest DA03start" and start this quest again and this should work, i had same problem and this worked for me

ps. i know this topic is almost 2 years but there is no solution about this in internet
