Find Lost Item
I want to display all of my Dragonpriest Masks but I cant find "Krosis". I know I got it very early in the game but never used it, maybe I have accidetly dumped it or I just cant find it in my various houses. Is there a method to find this (ore other) "lost" items?

Give yourself one from the console commands. The code is in one of the Skyrim steam guides or from the skyrim wiki online.

Open console "~" type, "player.placeatme 000F8A48 1" press enter then "~" now look down.

That will create a duplicate, if you want the original one you fought for

prid f8a48
moveto player

It seems like this works only with NPCs, not with items.
BTW: "000F8A48" is the ID of Krosis himself - not of his mask.

I know this is an old thread but for anyone else who wants to know the solution, it's this:

1. Go into console and type "save (save-name here) 1". This will take a while but when it's done it should open a notepad document with some information about the save. If notepad isn't opened automatically the file will be in your save folder as a .txt file.

2. Hit Ctrl-F to find the item you're looking for. In this case, it's Krosis. There'll be a RefID right next to it which identifies that exact item, not the general item.

3. Then do what Zefram said and type "prid (RefID)" and then "moveto player". Make sure not to click anything or it'll deselect your item. And the item should be dropped at your feet. Might not do it the first time though as it might clip through the floor, but if it does just do it again.

There might be several instances of what you're looking for in the save file, so it might take some trial and error to get the right one, but if it's something like the Ebony Blade which is only naturally instantiated once, there'll only be one entry under "Ebony Blade" and that'll be the RefID you're looking for.

I bet this was because of the Thalmor Embassy quest.
actually im not going to call you a necromancer since necromancers (from what i remember) dont post very late on disscussions soo.
why do you think that?

Finding a lost item is actually easy. In console command, type... "save funclist 1"
This will bring up a list of nearly everything in the game and their ID numbers. Find the Correct ID for what you lost using a Ctrl+F search on the list. I did this with the Glass Dragon Claw, which seemed to have fallen through the floor. Type "prid <ID>" then "moveto player" to move the original to you. The number you need will be different than the one used to generate a copy. For instance, the Glass Dragon Claw ID for adding to inventory is 7c260, but the ID to retrieve the original is 7c25f. (If you use this to summon a Dragon Priest Mask, try to make sure you aren't using the code for the Dragon Priest Himself... Not sure what would happen.)

By the way, save funclist 1 also works for lost followers, including ones added by mod.

Cheers for this. Lost Dawnbreaker (a unique with one instance) and found it with this guide.

I need help respawning my Ghostblade. I did what Zefram and Amber recommended to do but the sword simply doesn't show up in front of me. What do I do?

This is yet several years after the fact... but thank you so much. Kharjo misplaced the Dawnbreaker I had him using, didn't want to create a duplicate, so you saved me!

Yeah, I think I lost the Ebony Blade and retrieved it using this method. Glad to see this is still helping people.
