Can't find Lydia...frustrated as hell

I was doing the quest where you're finding the Elder Scroll, and when I finished the quest I noticed that Lydia was gone. I tried fast travelling and waiting but none of them worked. I don't own a house in the game, I checked the hall of the dead and she isn't in Dragonsreach. I typed in a command that teleported me to her but she wasn't there. Any help is appreciated.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally kill her?

Try teleporting her to you.

I've lost companions too and sometimes I have had to wait 2-3 days in game time or a couple fast travels for them to return to me. This is what info I know.

Did you dismiss her or tell her to wait for you?
- If you told her to wait somewhere she's still waiting there.
-If you told her to part ways she's back at Breezehome, and if you don't own Breezehome, at Dragonreach.
-If she's just lost, she'll rejoin you or return to Dragonsreach after a few days in game or a couple fast-travel.

If none of the above, she's likely dead. Though I think the 'move to' command should technically take you to her corpse.

There is a way to doublecheck this. Try to get someone else to follow you. They'll refuse if they think you already have a follower as their keen powers of observation let them 'know' even if your follower is nowhere nearby.

When I typed "prid a2c94" into console, it says "(000a2c94) on the screen.

I'm just guessing that I didn't kill her because I read online that if she dies, you can find her body in the catacombs of the hall of the dead in Whiterun.

have you tried getting another follower? the one in bannered mane will actually pay you 100g and allow you to invite her to follow if you brawl her.
or there is a couple you can hire for 100g just to test it.

if it says you already have a follower then try staying in one town and waiting for multiple days to see if she shows up..
if you don't have a follower, she is most likely dead, but for some reason her remains didn't show up...
i think you also should have gotten a message from the courier if she died tho, and an 'inheritance'

the most logical theory would be that somehow she got "wait here" commanded somehow, but then the console command should work. based on known glitches tho, she might have fallen thru the world, and i don't know how to fix that.

Get yourself locked up in jail, when released she is usually standing outside waiting for you (unless she's dead that is).

FIXED IT. FINALLY. If you're also having this problem, do this.

Open console then type ' a2c94.moveto player '
If lydia is dead, then type ' a2c94.resurrect '

She will be back to life, but unfortunately all your stuff will be gone that you gave to her.

It will work for 10 hours perhaps until your game is borked.


IF Lydia or any follower die, load one OLD save. Dont try to resurect them.

stop wasting your time on her, shes the worst companion in all ways, and the ugliest. go to the drunken hunstman and hire Janessa for 500 gold, and never bother with another person cause shes an absolute beast.
