Tips for leveling two handed upto 100?
It's my only warrior skill that isn't 100 (it's 93) and it's driving me insane.

All my other skills have been organically levelled up, like for Archery i spent the longest time shooting everything with an arrow and i saved the last 6 levels for Angi's free training.

I mained one handed + shield, so those easily became level 100 in no time.

However, two handed seems to be taking incredibly long. I bought a cheap warhammer and killed like 10 mammoths and i only moved ONE level. This too much...i'll never make it to level 80 to face the Ebony warrior lol.

A quick google search suggests that i must get Shadowmere and hitting him. Except i don't want to do the DB questline, my guy only murdered one person and that was the annoying person gaurding the house near the Riften Graveyard (He was just being difficult, even when i cleanly sneaked in and out of the house). In fact i may consider just destorying the DB.

So tips? Also "git gud", "play the game" aren't exactly tips, just FYI :P

The Bloodskal Blade from the barrow inside Raven Rock Mine, if you have Dragonborn. A power attack sends out an energy beam. Both the attack and the beam level two handed skill.

I don't have DB :/

That sounds handy...i don't know why Two handed takes forever.

I'm level 66, so i just went to Arcwind point...3 Draugr Death Lords and 1 Overlords, 1 Priest and an Ancient Dragon. I murdered them all with a mere iron warhammer of sparks (My 2x Legendary Daedric Armor helped sustain me)

And Two Handed didn't jump at all...just half a bar. I thought using weaker weapons against very strong enemes at least helped?

You get experience from dealing the weapons base damage, so use a weapon that isn't enchanted or coated with poison. If you don't want to do DB quests, there are other routes.. You can use conjuration to summon weak targets (weak spells cost less mana = less resting). You could pay to train with Torbjorn Shatter-Shield(expert) in Windhelm and Vilkas(master) in Whiterun.

Also, I just learned today about this amazing weapon: The Longhammer. It swings about as fast as a 1h weapon, so it's damage output is better than a daedric warhammer. You can also enchant it. Or, you can use it with Elemental Fury for maximim hammerlols.

When you're grinding, always be sure to activate the appropriate sign, in this case the warrior sign, and rest in a bed that you own or in an inn to get the "well rested" or even better, "lovers comfort".

Though I do not have more tips for leveling 2 handed, I do know of another way for you to reach level 80 and face the ebony warrior.

Since a patch some time ago, we obtained the ability to turn a skill "legendary" after it reached level 100. This refunds all the spent skill points in the tree, and resets the level back to level 15 and you gain XP for it again. This lets the level cap stay infinite. You can do this with illusion and restoration, for eksample, and level them up back to 100 very quickly, letting you "powerlevel". There are plenty of guides on youtube and other places if you want more info on the matter.

enchant some of your armor with two-handed buffs

XP is based on the damage inflicted. While 2H weapons can do some impressive damage, it can work against you because you don't do as many hits. My suggestion is get the best non-enchanted 2H weapon you can (ebony/daedric/dragonbone). The key is the base damage, I believe, so tempering or enchants don't factor into it.

Then go kill stuff! If you have summons, practice on them. That's not really an exploit, it's just sparring. But if you don't mind an exploit, then try one of the non-hostile essentials, like Maiq or Shadowmere.

If you haven't already found them there are 5 2h skill books and you can get up to 7 free training boosts through quests. Info can be found here; http://m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Two-handed . If you have Dawnguard then the dragonbone warhammer (28 damage) is best. If your full on vanilla then the deadric warhammer (27 base damage) is best.
Geek alert: 2h skill XP=item base damage x 0.7
So, a deadric warhammer with a base damage ( before perks or anything) of 27 will yield 18.9 XP per hit.

Turn on warrior stone or that one stone that boosts EVERYTHING, and use a basic longsword on a lot of really powerful enemies, or just get a ton of guards and citizens trained on you and whack the crap out of them, if one of them is an unkillable that just makes it twice as good.

Bro, necromancy is covered by conjuration, not 2-handed.

Just go around killing things, it seems to level up two-handed fairly quickly, also if you want to level up faster, make some skills legendary, which resets 'em to 15, allowing you to level them up with that 'low level skill speed' which should help you level up faster :)

Im sure he got those last 7 levels in the past 2 years. :steamfacepalm:

Besides, your advice is totally wrong for 2 handed.

Ya there are no longswords in Skyrim. Just swords and greatswords. :p
