I am using Trade and Barter as my main trading mod and Trade Routes to give varying regional prices.
Trade and Barter takes your position in the region and relationship with the trader in count. If you are a friend of Adrianne, then she will give slightly better prices to you than Eorlund would. If you are a Thane of Whiterun, then you will get better prices from all merchants + friendshop bonuses above that (if any.)
Trade Routes gives regional variation for products and prices. You can buy products and materials cheaper where they are plenty and sell them with better prices where they are rare. Mod allows some quests to affect prices as well, so your actions have a bit of effect to economy. I don't really use trade routes themselves (trading route system) at all, but having some sense to trade and prices was a nice addition to the vanilla game.
